Imagine a tiny mountain town of about 1,200 people, where mornings begin with clouds floating outside your window, winding forest roads, and waterfalls just a short hike away.
Dry Falls and Bridal Veil felt like nature pulling back a curtain just for us. 😍 Afternoons were for wandering downtown - cute coffee shops, design-forward boutiques, antique stores, and restaurants with real heart. Like the where chefs cook like they’re feeding friends, not tourists.

Day 1:
We left Vancouver, drove through vineyards, mountains, and fields, and even took a ferry across the river before hitting a scenic forest road that led us to Alpine Meadows Resort.. Nestled beside Hallamore Lake, our chalet came with lake views, a full kitchen, and the peace and quiet we didn’t know we’d been craving.
DAY 2:
Wake up early, grab breakfast and set off to chase waterfalls! 💧 Wells Gray is called Waterfall Park for a reason - there are over 40 named falls here, from quick roadside stops to short scenic hikes. Helmcken (the star of the park) is just a 5-minute walk and completely blew us away. We couldn’t cover them all in a day, so give yourself time!
DAY 3:
We meant to go white water rafting… but forgot to book in advance 😅
So we embraced a full resort day: boating on Hallamore Lake, wandering forest trails, chilling by the dock, and just soaking in the silence. Honestly? It ended up being our favourite day.
DAY 4:
Slept in. Slow breakfast at the boathouse. One last paddle. Then hit the road back to Vancouver with full hearts and zero regrets.

Yash and I always loved adventures. And when we started traveling together, we discovered so many new things about each other and… loved it. But weekend trips and short holidays were soon not enough for us. We craved to stay longer, explore beyond popular places, make friends, and have someone say “your usual” at a restaurant. It was such a silly dream, but we just wanted to figure out a way to do it. And we did. 🙌🏼
So once we got married, we decided to see the world by looking for jobs abroad. Now we could not just visit but live in a place as we explored it at our pace, learn the local nuances, and explore beyond the popular tourist destinations. We were open to any place in the world and the opportunities surprised us. In the last 8 years we’ve lived in Tanzania, Sudan, Sri Lanka and currently, we are based out of Vancouver, Canada.
Marriage doesn’t always mean settling down, it could also mean that you content and happy in each others’ company that you dare to take off… 🚀
