For me, it’s sweet peas. Over the years I’ve learned a lot about the kind of grower I am and my strengths and weaknesses. Turns out I’m pretty terrible with annuals. Starting them is easy (cause what else is there to do in the depths of winter?!), but the struggle for me is usually caring for the seedlings, planting them out in a timely manner and then getting them off to a good healthy start. I can tell you, I have killed a LOT of sweet pea plants! But, I can’t resist them and sow more seeds every winter, even though deep down, I know their fate.
This year, I’m trying to be a little more strategic and have signed myself up for sweet pea school. Have you seen Marryn’s sweet pea field? She’s def got the magic touch so I’m hoping I can pinpoint what I’m doing wrong and get a better plan in place this year. Fingers and toes all crossed…I’ll get back to you some time in June.
