Many might recall me receiving my degree in May of 2021; yet, due to pandemic restrictions, walking the stage for graduation was postponed. It was such a challenging thing to accept after spending nearly 5 years working on this degree! I’ve been grateful for the credentials in the meantime, and have been patiently awaiting the moment for everything to FEEL official with a proper “Hooding Ceremony.” This moment has now arrived and it’s happening in June! 🔥🔥🔥

Earning a doctoral education happens to about 1% of the population, and this is an even smaller number for Black people, and an even smaller number for Black women! You can imagine how pivotal this moment is for me, my parents, my family, my future children, my Sorority, my tribe, and my community!
