This years 50th anniversary of Earth Day focused on climate action, and the Fashion Revolution week, a week to commemorate the death of 1,138 garment workers at the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh, both focus on many elements of the fashion industry which are neither ethical or sustainable.
Here we share actionable ways our industry can be a positive part of climate action:
➡️ Transparency. Sharing #whomadeourclothes and under what conditions, considering all stages of the supply chain.
➡️ Local production. Supporting the local economy where possible and ensuring ethical treatment & fair pay of garment workers.
➡️ Slow fashion business models. Producing less items and focusing on quality and timeless styles.
➡️ Responsible packaging. Recycled and recyclable.
➡️ Less waste. Not producing excessive quantities of clothes and using a zero waste techniques such as incorporating dead-stock material.
➡️ Fabrics. Using responsible fabrics such as ours from regenerated nylon Or recycled materials, tencel or natural fibres like linen. When sourcing, note that many fabrics are accredited and classified by their sustainability.
➡️ Closing the loop. Working towards a circular fashion industry where materials are reused, recycled and repurposed.
➡️ Carbon neutral shipping.
➡️ Making clothes that last. Quality is key, we need items to last longer so consumers can buy less but better!
🌊
We are doing our best to ensure that we incorporate climate action into every element of our business. We encourage other small business owners to do the same & consumers to ask questions about the businesses they buy from 💙

The world's oceans - their temperature, chemistry, currents and life - drive global systems that make the earth habitatable for humankind. How we manage this vital resource is essential for humanity as a whole, and to counterbalance the effects of climate change.
🐠
Over three billion people depend on marine and coastal biodiversity for their livelihoods. However today we are seeing 30 percent of the world's fish stocks overexploited, reaching below the level at which they can produce sustainable yealds.
🐙
To conserve and sustainably use the oceans, sea's and marine resources for sustainable development. Oceans, sea's and coastal areas form an integrated and essential component of the earth's ecosystem and are critical to sustainable development. They cover more than two thirds of the earth surface and contain 97% of the planet's water..
