π― MAKE EVERY MEAL A SUNDAY DINNER. BOM APETITE π©π»βπ³
This foolproof #focacciarecipe is super simple, but the results are excellent.
It is super bubbly & #delicious as is or adorned with the toppings of your choice. I topped mine with Sugar Bomb grape tomatoes, fresh rosemary & sesame seeds.
The crust of this #homemadebread is golden and crispy. The crumb is light, fluffy, airy & has just the perfect amount of chew & elasticity.
π― Use high quality olive oil & bread flour.
Dough:
3 cups (360g) bread flour
1 1/2 tsp (9g) sea salt
1 tsp (5g) granulated sugar
1/2 tsp honey
1 tsp (3g) instant dry yeast
1 1/4 cups (284g) water, warm (100Β°F)
2 TBSP (26g) olive oil
Topping:
2 TBSP (26g) olive oil
Maldon salt, for topping
1. Whisk flour, salt, sugar, yeast. Add water + oil; mix until fully combined, no dry spots. Cover, rest 15 min.
2. With wet hand, pull, stretch and fold dough over itself around bowl (12 times), flip smooth side up. Rest 15 min. Repeat 3 more times over 45 min.
3. Cover and rise 1 hour at 70β75Β°F until nearly doubled, puffy, bubbly.
4. Grease 9" square pan. Add parchment strip with overhang. Grease again and coat with 1 tbsp olive oil.
5. Gently move dough to pan, flip to coat in oil, handling minimally.
6. Cover and rise 1.5 hours until jiggly, bubbly & filling pan. Preheat oven to 475Β°F.

9. Bake on lower rack 18-20 min until golden.
10. Finish crisping: remove, lift out with parchment, return directly to oven rack 7 min to crisp sides.
11. Transfer to rack; cool completely before cutting.,

π― However, it's 100% worth visiting if you are in Tokyo for just a few days.
π£ We saw and sampled an incredible spread of fresh #seafood, sashimi, sushi & Japanese #streetfood. There are also a ton of specialty food, ceramics and kitchenware shops to explore.
π Get there early (8 AM) to get a head start, beat the crowds, and scope out the scene first before diving into the vast array of delicious and unique eats. Lots of visitors start rolling in as early as 9 AM.
π Happy we made it to Tsukiji Fish Market during our 4 days/nights in Tokyo despite reports of this iconic destination being an overcrowded tourist tra

π Ignore the negative reviews and definitely spend a long morning at this vibrant historical spot for culinary and culture enthusiasts alike.

π‘From #Otters to #Omurice, there is A LOT to experience on #TakeshitaStreet alone.
ππ»ββοΈTips & Recommendations:
βοΈ 1. Most shops open at 11AM, but get to Harajuku early to grab a coffee & snack on Cat Street, then enjoy photo opps and a stroll down the famed Takeshita Street before the crowds form (very quickly). We found a lovely "venut" (vegan donuts, which we were not intentionally searching for, but were delicious) and coffee shop on Cat Street off of Harajuku Street named White Cafe.
𦦠2. Be first in line when they open at 11AM where you can safely play with, pet, feed, photograph & high five some adorable otters. And yes, it's worth every Yen (about $20 USD for 30 minutes).
π 3. Definitely sample, but don't get full on all the Rainbow Snacks. We went for the grilled cheese.
π³ 4. Try the viral Japanese omelette rice aka Omurice at hidden spot, Tamago Kitchen right across the street from Harajuku Station. I was excited for the beef stew option, but the Ketchup version was off the charts.
π€³ 5. Grab a selfie on the famous Takeshita Street Cam.
π 6. Explore all the stores, including a ton of vintage clothing shops. There is A LOT happening in Harajuku outside of the main drag.
π₯© 7. Definitely get in line (moves quickly) sandwich shop and try what must be an 8 Egg Sando (contains both jammy and fluffy eggs) and the Wagyu Steak Sando. These sandwiches are gigantic and easily shareable, but go crazy and get both because they're delicious.
π 8. Walk it off and head over to Shibuya to see the Crossing and browse tons of shops including Tokyo's largest variety store MEGA Don Quijote for all your souvenir & snack needs along with a major sensory overload shopping experience.

Premium #A5 #Wagyu Omakase at Yakiniku Kappo Note in Azabu-Juban, Minato City, Tokyo, recognized as one of the World's Best #Steak Restaurants.
My Hungry Friends, I may have shared many stories over the last 2 weeks about our travels through countries in Asia, but I am just getting warmed up with loads of content.
My Forever Sous Chef and I ate our way through Tokyo, Bali and Hong Kong over the course of 13 days, balanced only by the massive amounts of walking and exploring (and swimming during the Tropical Beach Paradise portion of our amazing cultural and culinary adventure) these beautiful destinations during our honeymoon.
This was an epic #WagyuOmakase meal.

Thank you to Chef Tatsuo Takada of Oku Akasaka Tanshi for this delicious dinner and beautiful evening during the Tokyo Chapter of our epic Honeymoon travels.
For our first night in #Japan, we decided to sample a bit of well, EVERYTHING and it was EPIC.

We gently seared seasoned (just Salt & Pepper) #Wagyu on a super hot, lightly oiled stainless steel skillet, let them rest for 10 minutes before cutting them into perfect cubes.
While your rests, sear some carrots, broccoli and onion slices in the same skillet until slightly charred. Add a few dashes of low sodium while cooking, which will facilitate light caramelization.
Top each steak bite with a some, then crown each cube with a garlic chip.
Sprinkle some additional flaky, freshly ground black pepper & serve with vegetables.
ABSOLUTELY.
