Then I discovered Pink Street (next slide) — literally a whole lane painted candy-pink — and it reminded me of that vibrant street in Puerto Rico. In Lisbon it’s officially called Rua Nova do Carvalho in the Cais do Sodré district. Once a sailors’ haunt and red-light zone, the whole place got a makeover starting in 2011 and by 2013 the pavement was transformed into its famous pink hue. 
Now it’s a cool mix of bar terraces, artful walls, nightlife and day-time photo ops — the perfect backdrop when you’re chasing colour, whether nature-wise or street-wise. 
📍 So the photo of that tree is my “autumn surprise”, and Pink Street is my “unexpected urban pop of colour”. Two sides of the same vibe: finding beauty in the unexpected.

Perched on the dramatic cliffs of Algar Seco in Carvoeiro, this hidden gem gets its name from the two natural rock “windows” that resemble a doll’s eyes staring out at the Atlantic 🌊.
