I met Shahd during the LPC and we have been friends ever since (Shahd was one of my bridesmaids 🥹). Today we qualified into the same team and it is so exciting to get to work within the same team at the same time!
It is great to have someone at the same level as you so you can support one another. I never sat in a seat at the same time as another trainee so this is my first time working at the same time as someone at the exact same level as me in my team. It’s very exciting (it also helps that Shahd is my bestie!).

I thought that my heart was set on qualifying into the Pensions team so I said I was happy to go to any team for my final seat. I was put in the Banking team and ….. my head was turned! I am now qualifying into the Banking team which is a clear indication that I absolutely loved this seat.
Banking is a transactional seat dealing with a range of finance transactions including leveraged finance and real estate finance. I wasn’t sure that a corporate seat would suit me as they involve intense periods around completions but I was told that if you feel a buzz and satisfaction when you complete a matter that this is the work for you (which is exactly how I feel).
I also thought Banking would involve lots of maths which it does not!
The work is so interesting and intellectually complex and there is so much more to learn about lending and borrowing but I have already got the hang of the general process and the work really clicks with me.
The team is amazing and you can see from the photos that I have had the best 6 months with them. I am so excited to continue my career here!

- Drafting and keeping track of Conditions Precedent (“CP”) checklists. CP checklists list the conditions which must be met before a finance agreement can be completed so it is vital that they are up to date throughout the process.
- Drafting and reviewing corporate authorisations (board minutes, director certificates and shareholder resolutions)
- Dealing with the signing process on DocuSign
- Drafting deeds of release (releasing security)
- Liaising with overseas counsel on matters involving overseas companies
- Completing company search checklists and reviewing company articles for all borrower companies and guarantors on a matter
- Assisting with corporate due diligence

Life lately has just been amazing and it is now even better as I have officially qualified as a solicitor. I will be staying at my current firm as an associate in the Banking team (where I am currently sitting as a trainee so I won’t be going anywhere different next week when I start as an associate!).
This was 8 years in the making and I started this page as a first year uni student so you have all seen the journey over the years! It has been a lot of hard work and I am finally qualified 🥹
Life lately has also been full of baking cakes, camping, our first festival, climbing mountains (Snowdon again of course), getting cuddles from Kevin and my sisters new puppy Peach and generally just being outside in the sunshine as a married couple!
I can’t wait to share this new chapter with you all ❤️

We had the best 11 days exploring Madeira. We now need another holiday after the honeymoon to recover!
📍Madeira - Quinta da Casa Branca Hotel (this was such a beautiful small luxury hotel with gorgeous gardens)
🥾Hikes- PR8, PR6, PR6.1 and Pico De Arieiro (where we watched the sunrise above the clouds 🥹). We booked transfers for all of these hikes where we were picked up from our hotel and dropped back afterwards. This was cheaper than hiring a car or booking taxis.
⛰️Our booked excursions (all through the Get my Guide app ) included canyoning, kayaking, snorkelling, an e-bike tour and an off-roading tour. We loved them all!
🥙 The food was incredible! Our favourite restaurants were: Cris’, Casa Italia, Mamma Mia (for their pitachio ice cream!), O Justinianos, Beef and Wine and Nomade. The restaurant at our hotel was also incredible!
Madeira is a very popular holiday destination at the moment and we can completely understand why. The scenery was amazing and there is so much to do if you love adventure and hiking like us ❤️

It’s a rainy day today and I’m getting over a nasty migraine so Im having a slow study day - today is Child Law! I wanted to share with you how I am splitting up my week this week and how I use my Timetable.
These Timetables are available im my ‘Law Student Bundle’ on my Etsy shop where you can print the PDF for yourself!
I colour code my Timetable to make it easier to see what I need to do and Im tackling a Tutorial subject at a time, rather than smaller subtopics.
Making a clear Timetable is really important, it ensures that you have enough time for everything and you stick to a clear schedule.
Please note: I do take REGULAR breaks but this is just a rough timetable! I don’t want to spend too much time making a super detailed timetable so it’s just a rough template.

I have some previous posts on this but I wanted to revisit this topic in the run up to revision season.
I read the suggested textbook pages after the lecture or as part of revision at the end of the term. I only tab information which is new or more descriptive than what I have in my own notes!
I tab at the top of the relevant paragraph and colour coordinate so I know where to look for what I need: 🌈
Blue = Definition
Orange = Evaluation
Green / Yellow = Useful substantive points
Pink = Key Case or Statute section
(+ I use purple across the top to pin-point useful chapters I need to read).
Im currently writing an essay and the tabs I have added in my textbook are making the process so much quicker.
Top Tips:
📖 Use see-through plastic tabs. They’re very durable and you don’t need to move them to read the text again.
📖Just tab the top of useful paragraphs because you will use hundreds of tabs if you’re tabbing every useful sentence!
📖Re-use your tabs. When I’m finished with a textbook I peel off all of the tabs and put them in colour-coordinated piles so that I can use them again in the future.
📖Use paper sticky notes inside of the book to write little notes. I don’t like writing inside of books so this keeps them clean.
