Dit project, met een knipoog naar de film Avatar, markeert het moment waarop Yasja deze lang verborgen beeldtaal opnieuw naar buiten brengt. Het is een eerste onthulling van een visuele wereld die jarenlang verscholen lag in schetsboeken en waarin fantasie en realiteit opnieuw samenvloeien.

Afgelopen weken heb ik mijn persoonlijk mooiste schilderij, muurschildering en illustratie gemaakt.
Deze illustratie is gemaakt op A3 papier, gemaakt met aquarel. Het is de allereerste ontmoeting met mijn tweede ouderlijk huis, in Zuid-Limburg. Een persoonlijke herinnering voor mijn hele familie.

Mensen vragen vaak aan me welk werk ik van mezelf het beste vind. Tot nu toe is dit een van mijn eigen favoriete kunstwerken die ik ooit heb gemaakt. Het is de eerste keer dat ik mijn eigen vrije fantasie op een muur heb gezet, na lange tijd verstopt te hebben gelegen in mijn dummyās. Een wereld waar je als kijker in kan āverdwijnenā.
Ondanks de kou heb ik lopen vlammen. De flow zat er goed in en ik heb genoten!
