introducing: the furry friend workshop 🐱💘🐶
as a cat person who grew up with all kinds of furry friends (🐰🐶🐱🐹🐐🦇 and so on), I knew there would come a time for inclusivity in the kitty workshops, and it finally starts now! 💖💫
for all the dog people who've asked me "why no dogs?" and got the standard answer "there are just too many kinds 🥲", here's my humble attempt at making three sorta general dog shapes, which are also part of a bigger project and I have been cooking up! I hope y'all like them as much as I do, hihi 🐕🐾🐩
so come celebrate Ginger's ✨actual✨ birthday by painting your own bestie, kitty or doggo, with us! it'll be cozy, it'll be fun and in the end you'll have an adorable piece of art inspired by your baby, which is just beyond cute if you ask me 🥹💕

there were soooo many cutie pics from our last workshop at I kinda had to do a pt. 2 to share them all, hihi (swipe for the funniest grumpiest kitty ever, hahah) 💖
I'm so excited for our first springtime session of the year!! I've already started making a bunch of flower charms for y'all to paint tiny cat faces on (it's like a little side quest and last time it was so much fun!!) 🌷🥹🌼

last month, we had the sweetest group of people come together at to paint their precious bbs and share their cat pictures (which is pretty much my definition of bonding), and it was the exact kind of cutie & fun time my little heart needed, hihi ❤️🩹
so of course we immediately decided to add a new date, and of course we'll have more charms/keychains for everyone to paint tiny versions of their furry bffs on (keep swiping for a peek!), and of course I'm already in spring mode, so some of them are gonna be flower-shaped too 🌸
can't wait to see you (and your entire folder of kitty photos) there!! 🥹🩵🐱

and I are back at it again, and after running a bunch of these last year I can fully attest that there's no better way to spend time than looking at cat pics and painting cute versions of them (it's kitty science, y'all can't disagree!!!) 🐈💫🐈⬛
the idea is still the same: you bring lots of photos of your feline bbs + a pinch of creativity, I'll bring lots of handmade ceramic cats for you to choose from (including hanging ornaments and big kitty coasters) and we'll cozy up with warm drinks and glaze away in the cutest spot in town 🥹🌸

okay, so clippy was everyone's fave during my exhibition ⛺️ inner child ⛺️ at earlier this year, so it was no surprise that he found a loving home pretty much right away, hihi 🩶
but since he was also MY fave, I couldn't stop thinking about his massive eyeballs, even after making a bunch of tiny clippies for 🌷 tiny festival 🍎... there's something about being watched by a giant clippy that's both comforting and absolutely creepy to me 😂
so of course I said yes(!!!!) when commissioned a big clippy to grace the walls of his home with his cute but unhinged gaze, haha! I had the best time making and glazing him again and couldn't be happier to know he's loved by his new family too 🥹💘
I guess it's time to start looking for applicants for big clippy the third? 🖇️✨
our beloved workshop is back with a very christmassy twist, hihi 🥹💫
I've been hard at work making lots of santa hat-wearing ceramic kitties and the cutest little charms for y'all to turn into your own christmas ornaments/secret santa gifts 🌟🎁
complete with colorful ribbons and jingle bells, our plan is to spend the coziest winter evening together painting our beautiful cats and drinking hot cocoa! and once they're fired, assembled and nicely gift wrapped, you'll get to take home your little baby or maybe surprise your favorite cat person with an extra adorable present this year ❤️✨

#peachtober25 #peachtober25ghost
it’s now been three years since my Senny crossed the rainbow bridge, and when he left I started telling people "I have three cats: two girls and a little ghost", cause it felt weird not to include him after having him by my side every single day for a third of my life 💫❤️🌈
it took me a little bit to share my last #peachtober piece cause my internet brain has been moving in slow motion, but then it also kinda feels like I blinked and we’re already halfway through november? I honestly don't know how to explain it, at this point I'm just going with it 🙃
swipe to the end for my all-time favorite Senny pic and possibly the world's cutest cat photo, hihi 👅🥹
if you've ever met my girl or heard me talk about her, you know it takes less than a minute for her to warm up to strangers and start purring super loudly 😭💖
she ✨loves to love✨ and I think a lot of it comes from the endless amount of care she's been given since the day we saw her at a park and instantly fell in love 🌸
when we talk about love, we also talk about a cycle of care, and our ability to love others and ourselves comes from deep within this cycle, from feeling safe as part of a community that is always there for us and making sure they know we're always there for them 💞
all this to say that we don't exist alone and we don't love in a vacuum. much like my girl, my broken heart began to heal and expand when I found myself surrounded by other extraordinary beings (most of them women and kitties, hihi 🤭), and the bigger it grew, the more I learned about myself and the better I was able to love them all ❤️🩹
and on that note, here's a huuuuge thank you to my friends, old and new, who were happy to send me pics of their beautiful kitties for this silly project! it took me longer than expected to shoot, then reshoot, then edit it, but I'm just in love with how it turned out and I hope y'all enjoy seeing your babies here too 🥹💝
(ps.: there's also a little surprise for, cause this was initially meant to come out during #peachtober24 & her boy Tonka reminds me so much of my Senny I just can't 😭)
ever since my chonky love became one with the cosmos back in november 2022, creating things (and just existing as a sorta functional human) has been, to put it very very mildly, hard...
add to that (brace yourselves, it's gonna be an emoji list, haha):
📦 planning, while deep in the throes of grieving, and then eventually completing a long-awaited transatlantic move with the cat fam and seven incredibly heavy bags full of books, trinkets and memories (and a small piece of furniture that a dear friend gifted me years ago and I couldn't leave behind)
❤️🩹 saying goodbye (but talk to you soon and please come visit!) to the extraordinary group of friends who became my incredibly loving family and a true home to me
🎬 leaving behind my career in film, a decade-long art department adventure that devoured my life and allowed me to grow as an artist and a human, dream bigger than I could've possibly imagined and find some of the most amazing people ever to exist
📓 and then jumping head first into academia, a place I've always love dearly but hadn't been back to since film school in my early twenties (for reference, I'm now happily in my thirties)
...and you get a perfect storm of depression, anxiety and exhaustion, a complete loss of purpose and a profound longing for my parents, who left this earth far too soon and can no longer hold me through it all; at the same time, there's a whole lot of excitement, the sense of having accomplished what I had set out to do (and more!), and this wonderful feeling of finally being home in many ways 🌸
all that to say that without my Senny and our ten years of big-spoon-chubby-spoon love, none of this would exist. and I truly mean that, cause my boy saved my life more times than I can count, and then fought hard to stay here as some of my big dreams were starting to come true... so it’s only fair that he becomes the face of my art journey from now on, and what a cute face that is 💘
thank you all for your kindness throughout these past couple years, and for sharing your cat stories and making this place so very special to me. I can't wait to show you everything I've been cooking up around here ✨
my collection is ready to dance with ya (and your cats, hehe)! 🧡
