I wanted the driftwood at the end of the point to be the focal point of the painting because it sparked fond memories I had playing by the lakes and exploring areas similar too that as a child, so capturing the way the light illuminated that area at the edge of the lake was critical, but it was bit of a challenge to execute because that light structure did not last very long and took a good amount of discipline not to chase different compositions around as the light moved.
It was also important to me to get as much of the beautiful color changes that occupy the scene and that took time and patience as well, so it left me with no choice but to go back to the location multiple days.
