Today, our Year 8 students joined peers from Hale School for a meaningful day centred on diversity and the importance of embracing differences with compassion. 🀝

The day featured an inspiring talk from Madison Heady, who shared about her experience living with cerebral palsy, a visit from On My Feet, an organisation dedicated to supporting those experiencing homelessness, and a range of activities that gave students insight into living with physical impairments. β™Ώ

The girls have now secured their place at the Australian Nationals in New South Wales at the end of June, where they’ll compete against top teams from across the country.

Our Years 5, 6 and 10 teams also delivered strong performances, finishing third in the state, with our Year 6 team securing first place in Code Breaking. πŸ’»
Our Year 10 students recently dove into a fascinating day of marine exploration at Shoalwater Bay, putting their fieldwork skills to the test with a series of hands-on activities. πŸ”¬

Working with researchers from Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and CSIRO, our Year 10s sampled fish, surveyed seagrass and algae and tested water quality across the bay. πŸŒŠπŸ“Š

The day ended with an eco-cruise around Penguin Island, Seal Island and Bird Island, spotting local wildlife along the way. 🦭
