The first time I smelled this perfume I knew I had to have a couple of bottles. I’ve got a collection of over 600 perfume bottles and have smelled countless more and there are very few perfumes that have impressed me as much as this one. An aquatic floral that lasts is a rare feat in and of itself but the use of each note to enhance the overall impression of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. brilliantly recreates this scene and redefines the meaning of aquatic perfumes as a whole.
This lovely perfume make you feel like you have doused yourself in the most beautiful scented water available to man. It makes you feel a connection to the ancestors before you who used to use scented water as a refresher. A delightful pink pepper, pear and rhubarb capture the opening and each of these notes is instantly captured by the fragrant bouquet of lotus, water jasmine, magnolia and rose. This floral medley easily overpowers the fruity components. Water, Ambroxan and a clean musk round out the base and offer the longevity and power that you get.
This lasts forever on my skin and clothes. It is a beautiful, feminine and delicate fragrance that will be sure to complement any activity you are doing for the day. I get lots of compliments on this fragrance and most of all I feel great when I wear it. It is soothing and beautiful in a way that my nose greatly enjoys. In these turbulent times it reminds me of the beauty that nature has bestowed on Earth. A definite grounding fragrance for me. Have you had a chance to experience this beauty?

I am putting away my spring florals getting ready for my fall perfumes to come to the forefront and I lingered on this beauty. The florals blend so well that the lilac never overpowers the bouquet but yet she still weaves her youthful blooms through the threads of this fragrance. The longevity and wear time for me are adequate. As this dries down, I get a warm floral hug that lasts into the next day. The projection is a nice scent bubble and the perfume is pleasant and inoffensive.
I definitely have a “type”. The floral perfumes call to me like sirens. Do you start to pack away your spring beauties as well? Organizing and dusting the perfumes is a calming ritual I enjoy during early September it’s almost like a fall cleaning. I really hope you enjoyed my random review! I have missed you all so much. They have blocked me after asking me to work to promote there store. I bought a bottle of Bal de Afrique Absolu because I can’t promote a store haven’t personally bought from to my followers. I did receive a 20% discount but paid about $247 for the bottle and when I received the bottle it was a fake. I tried to be patient and get a refund and work with the store but I wanted to warn you all especially now that I’ve been blocked that they are selling fake perfumes.
If you’ve followed me for awhile you know I take great delight in florals. While I generally love this house I find this perfume to be a money grab. It is a weaker version of the original with some citrus on top and a fluttering of a floral bouquet that lasts maybe an hour. I led with all the positives and now I am offering a few drawbacks.
Bottom line in my opinion, this is a mass appealing light floral that costs way too much money. The bottle is lovely, the juice is shimmery and whimsical but beyond that I would pass on this version.
I hope you all enjoyed my review even though it isn’t quite the glowing review I generally give but it’s okay to say your favorite house might have missed the mark. I know there are a lot of glowing reviews going on right now about Guerlain and I can’t wait to try the new one I think that might be more in line with my tastes.
