Mit einem super alten Hund zusammenzuleben, ist mit vielen Herausforderungen verbunden. Die Spaziergänge finden im Schneckentempo statt, mit dem Alter nimmt auch der Fellverlust zu, wodurch überall, wirklich überall Haare liegen (das Auto! 😆). Ich muss regelmäßig an die Medikamente denken (Epilepsie, Arthrose) und mittlerweile alle 6 Stunden raus mit ihr. Manchmal sind wir draußen und sie vergisst, dass sie ihr Geschäft erledigen muss. Dann gehen wir wieder rein, ich trockne ihr die Pfoten ab und dann fällt es ihr wieder ein. Dann geht das ganze Spiel von vorne los. 😂
Trotzdem gehe ich mit meiner alten Labrador-Hündin Shila noch gern auf Reisen. Sie liebt Autofahren. Sie schläft im Auto wie ein Baby. Bei Autofahrten, die kürzer sind als 6 Stunden, will sie nicht mal raus. Der Tag dreht sich häufig um die alte Dame. Ich denke, das ist normal, denn vor allem alte Hunde sind mit viel Verantwortung verbunden und auch immer mit dem Wissen darum, dass mit jedem Tag der voranschreitet, auch die gemeinsame Zukunft ein stückweit endet. Genau deshalb lasse ich es mir nicht nehmen, sie überall dort mit hinzunehmen, wo es möglich ist. Mit fast 17 Jahren ist sie maximal entspannt.
Sie sieht nicht mehr gut, sie hört nicht mehr gut, Lärm stört sie überhaupt nicht. Sie findet es aufregend, wenn neue Leute da sind, lässt sich aber von nichts mehr abschrecken. Das ist sie wohl, die
Weisheit alter Hunde. Ich hoffe, dass unsere gemeinsame Reise noch einige Morgen sehen wird.
