☕️🧁Afternoon Tea Time🧁☕️

📍Location:
💰Price: £25pp

📝Review:
Last weekend we visited the Rhubarb Shed for a celebratory afternoon tea for my friend’s birthday.
There’s was a great choice of savoury and sweet things. You even got a mini tomato soup and piccalilli to enjoy your sandwiches with.
The cakes were amazing too - and the scones!

I’d definitely recommend 💕
✨Family Feast✨

Turtle Bay’s Sharing Menu is honestly the definition of a feast. They’ve got three options - Classic, Seafood and Plant- but we went straight for the Classic because it’s basically all the Caribbean favourites in one go.

Sweetcorn fritters, chilli squid, mango fried chicken, half jerk chicken, curry goat, citrus slaw, cucumber chow, dumplings… the whole lineup landed on the table and not one thing disappointed.

But the real winner? Endless sides. Unlimited rice & peas or unlimited bara roti — and yes, I absolutely took that personally. Every time the bowl dipped below halfway I was flagging someone down like “top me up please”.

And obviously… cocktails. 2 for £13 all day, every day. Refreshing, fruity, and the kind of drink that convinces you you’re on holiday even when you’re very much in Sheffield.

If you’re thinking about trying the sharing menu, go hungry, go thirsty, and take full advantage of those unlimited sides. We definitely did.

If you’ve got little ones - they can eat for free through the app: Simply download the Turtle Bay app, and when an adult spends £15 or more, your little one can choose one free meal from our children’s menu!

It’s the perfect way to spend your weekend!

A couple of months ago, we were invited down to Napoleons in Hillsborough to try out their new menu. We loved it that much that we went again a few weekends ago for a family birthday celebration.
We went on a Friday and had the £42 Dine in Style menu which is such great value for money. We would definitely visit again!

*This is not an AD. We paid for this meal in full.

🐔NANDO’S🐔

📍Location:
💰Price: ££

📝Review:
We are loving Nando’s at the moment and often take full advantage of the Dare to Share offer where you get 3 starters for £12.25. We always go for the hummus (my fave) and the halloumi (his fave). This time we had the sweet potato wedges too but we often have the olives!

🍜MAKI & RAMEN🍜

AD

We popped into Maki & Ramen at Meadowhall last week and had a lovely time.

Now, the whole menu is solid, but two dishes absolutely stole the show (and our heart):

🔥 The Spicy Chicken Teriyaki. Cooked to perfection it was properly juicy, and coated in a sauce that hits you with sweetness first and then a slow, confident kick of heat. The kind of dish that makes you pause mid‑conversation because your brain needs a moment to process what just happened.

🔥 The Spicy Tuna Roll - this was delicate, fresh, and then suddenly… boom. A little firecracker of flavour. I could’ve eaten three plates and still found a way to justify it. This roll is the reason I’ll be wandering back into Meadowhall like a woman on a mission.

Between the ramen, the sides and the sushi, and our complete lack of self‑control, it’s safe to say Maki & Ramen has officially become one of our fave spots.

☕️Afternoon Tea fit for a Princess 🫅

📍Location:
💰Price: £30pp

📝Review:
At the start of the long weekend, we headed down to the Pantry at Elsecar Heritage Centre for their afternoon tea. This is not just a regular afternoon tea - it’s fit for royalty.
You get a great selection of sandwiches, a slice of quiche and a delightful mini cheese and spinach muffin alongside a variety of incredible buns and cakes.
We had such a lovely time!

I would definitely recommend 😍

✨Eggs Benedict with a twist✨

📍Location:
💰Price: ££

📝Review:
Earlier this year we visited Harriet’s in Meadowhall for Breakfast while doing some Saturday morning shopping.
I went for the Mini Yorkshire Pudding Eggs Benedict which was absolutely delightful. It made a lovely change to the basic Benedict.
My boyfriend went for the cheese and toast with bacon and said it was super tasty too. He also said his coffee was amazing and said it’s worth visiting for that alone.
They also had a great selection of cakes available but we were too stuffed after breakfast to try - maybe next time!

🐔🍗DAVE’S HOT CHICKEN🍗🐔

📍Location:
💰Price: ££

📝Review:
We finally visited Dave’s Hot Chicken in Sheffield city centre yesterday on our work lunch. We had heard such great things and couldn’t wait to try.
I went for the Dave’s #4 Slider with fries. I upgraded to cheese fries and had an Oreo milkshake too. I went for the medium heat and think I could have gone little spicier. My friend went for the extra hot and said it was unreal!

We will definitely be back!

🍜WAGAMAMA🍜

📍Location:
💰Price: ££

📝Review:
A few weekends ago, we went on a shopping trip to York Designer Outlet. After shopping til we be literally dropped, we decided to go to Wagamama for lunch.
My favourite side/starter is the beef brisket and kimchee gyozas. For my main I had the Prawn Raisukaree which was delightfully fragrant with just a little kick.

What do you order at Wagamama?
