Our Years 7 and 8 students recently took on the Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) competition, sharpening their problem-solving skills through innovative challenges 💡

Designed around unique three-stage tasks, the CAT competition encourages students to develop and refine algorithms, applying them to increasingly complex data sets.

This competition was a fantastic opportunity to build critical thinking, resilience, and creativity in action. We’re so proud of our students' efforts! 👏

At the start of this year, we introduced a new approach to the images we share on social media, carefully designed to better protect our girls in this ever-evolving digital world.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with support from parents and educators not only within our own community, but across the state, nationally and globally.

While families may still recognise their own daughter or her friends through familiar details, like posture, hair, features or context, these images are not easily identifiable to a wider public audience.

Rather than sharing clear, full front facing images or full names, that could be copied, manipulated or used to identify a child on social media, we capture moments through movement, side profiles, over the shoulder angles, hands in action and wider scenes that tell the story of school life.

It’s not about removing connection. It’s about reducing risk, while continuing to celebrate the everyday moments that matter.

Eight teams, one jam-packed day of problem solving at Murdoch University 👩‍🔬

Last week, our Year 10 students participated in the National Science and Engineering Challenge.

Teams spent the day engaged in a series of hands on challenges, including building fish traps, wind turbines, eco houses and bridges, where they used engineering principles to design, test and improve solutions to problems.

Competitions like the National Science and Engineering Challenge are a wonderful opportunity for our students to spark curiosity, develop confidence and deepen their interest in STEM pathways for the future.

Recently, our second group of students returned home from their Wandering Spirit retreat, a Year 9 journey of reflection and personal growth.

Wandering Spirit offers our girls the chance to embark on a journey of self-reflection and discovery through guided reflections on community values, personal identity, respectful relationships, goal setting, self-respect and more.

This powerful experience fosters deeper connections with peers and mentors and encourages a greater sense of understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Year 5 have been exploring Units of Curiosity through a rich blend of HASS, Science and Design Technology, and last week they took a trip to Kings Park Naturescape to extend this learning🌿

During their visit, students had the chance to play, explore and investigate the incredible adaptations of WA native plants and animals in a hands on environment. They also visited the Kings Park classroom, where a specialist guided them in learning more about the unique features and survival strategies of our local plant life 🌱

Students carefully observed and recorded their learning through scientific sketching, capturing the detail and diversity of the plants they encountered.

A big thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who helped make the day such a memorable and meaningful experience 💚

Last week, a group of 25 students had the wonderful opportunity to perform alongside students from Scotch College at Wesley Church in the city as part of the 'Wesley at One' recital series.

The students came together in a combined choir, showcasing their talents alongside their Scotch College peers.

'Wesley at One' is a free recital series held at 1.00pm twice a month, featuring a variety of musical groups performing for the public.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to share their musical abilities with the wider community and be part of such a special event.

It’s Messy Day! 🫟

Shaving cream, slime, mud and flour. Our Junior Kindy and Kindy students got into the spirit of Messy Day and fully embraced everything messy.

From start to finish, they jumped right in, exploring, creating and getting their hands (and everything else!) delightfully dirty.

Imaginations ran wild, and the kids had the best time getting messy. Just listen to those squeals and giggles 💛💙
