For Rethink’s Vancouver office, the concept explores concentrated colour set against shadow tones — a deliberate contrast of experience that feels both unexpected and inevitable. Saturated planes meet deep, muted backdrops to carve out distinct edges, creating moments of intensity followed by pause. The interplay sharpens perception, guiding movement and framing collaboration in bold, graphic form.
To articulate the idea, we used layered rendering techniques — from high-contrast conceptual studies to atmospheric shadow explorations and refined material visualizations. Each method tested the tension between light and dark, mass and void, allowing the “unexpected expected” to emerge clearly before it was built.

For Waypoint Insurance’s Vancouver head office, we translated the idea of a journey into built form — a path that speaks to protection, respite, and safe haven.
A series of connected dark volumes guide movement through the space, while curved forms create moments of enclosure and calm. Selective colour and intentional lighting act as waypoints along the route, subtly marking transitions and inviting pause. The result is a workplace that feels grounded, protective, and quietly confident — a spatial reflection of the brand’s promise.
