The biggest financial mistake my generation can make right now is relying only on a salary.

I am in my early thirties.
I have built an international career.
I have earned a good income in Germany.
And at some point I faced a very uncomfortable truth⤵️

A salary, no matter how high, is not a financial strategy.

Here is the reality for our generation in Germany right now:

▶️The average net salary is around €2,850/month
▶️Housing costs alone consume up to 36% of that
▶️Groceries have risen 30% in the last 4 years
▶️Utilities are 13% higher than just 3 years ago
‼️And salaries have simply not kept pace

One income stream is no longer enough.

So as I enter my thirties, I made a decision:

I want to build a life that is not entirely dependent on a salary.

Jasmina and I were talking about exactly this, how building a strong career is actually the foundation, not the destination. And how the smartest move you can make is to use that career income to start building real assets alongside it.

Property investment is one of the powerful ways to do that and one that my generation is not talking about enough.

Not because it is easy. But because it is one of the few assets that works for you and gives you something that a salary never can: OWNERSHIP.

If I could give my generation one piece of advice right now, it would be this:

Stop treating your salary as the end goal.
Start treating it as the starting point.

Do you consider property investment as one of the ways to secure your financial future?

Tell me in the comments👇
“Impossible” itself says ➡️ I’M POSSIBLE.

BE BRAVE. BE BOLD.
That sentence defines my journey across four countries.

2011 🇫🇷 France
Are you brave enough to ask for an opportunity before life gives you permission?

18 years old.One suitcase. No stable legal status. No fluent French. Just a dream to study law.

I walked alone into the law faculty in Grenoble, asked for 3 minutes to pitch myself for an exceptional admission and got accepted.

That moment changed the trajectory of my life.

2016 🇩🇪 Germany
Are you brave enough to build the career people say you can never have?

Even after graduating in France, Switzerland and Germany, people still told me that with my foreign name, accent and international background, I would never build a legal career in Germany. So I chose courage over opinions.

I started as an Executive Assistant, became Head of Legal and closed major international transactions. After almost 8 years of collaboration, my German CEO called me a “Swiss Army Knife.”And honestly, I think that perfectly describes immigrants who refuse to quit: adaptable, resilient, culturally intelligent and brave.

2026 🚀 Founder Journey
Are you brave enough to fully bet on yourself?

After almost 10 years in corporate leadership, I am stepping out of my comfort zone again to build something of my own.

I am in my early 30s.
An immigrant.
A mother of two boys.
And more ambitious than ever to create value and impact.

My foreign name is my strength.
My story is my power.
And my courage defines the direction of my life.

Thank you to for creating a space that makes diverse stories and success paths more visible in Germany.
Representation creates possibility for the next generation.

My German CEO described me as a “Swiss Army Knife.”🔪

Here’s the 10-year career path that led to that and the 3 things that made the difference:

1️⃣ Leverage what others overlook
My first opportunity came from an unexpected advantage: speaking Russian. One skill placed me inside a €120M international transaction and gave me early exposure to C-level decision-making.

2️⃣ Build credibility before authority
In structured systems like Germany, credibility compounds slowly. Precision, reliability and consistency build trust and trust opens doors.

3️⃣ Reposition when the ceiling appears
After years in law, I realized my growth would be limited if I stayed only in legal. Pivoting into business development allowed me to expand my impact across borders.

Hard truths high-performing immigrants realize too late in Germany ⤵️

1️⃣ Language = Power
You can survive in English.
But if you want real access, influence, trust, leadership you need German.

That changes perception instantly.

2️⃣ Directness ≠ Rejection
The communication and feedback might feel sharp. The tone might feel cold.

Do not take it personal.
Stop reacting emotionally.
Start responding strategically.

3️⃣ Integration Is Self-Driven
The system will not “include” you automatically.
If you wait to be chosen you will wait long.

Position yourself.
Speak up. Show impact. Repeat.

4️⃣ Credibility Is Not Given
“Armenia?”
“Where is that?”

Sometimes people don’t know my country.
Sometimes they are skeptical.

I push anyway.
Stronger preparation.
Clearer communication.
Documented results.

You build trust through consistency.

5️⃣ Hard Work Is Baseline
Everyone works hard here.

What moves you forward is:

Clarity.
Preparation.
Structured thinking.
Positioning.
Visible impact.

‼️Germany is not against you.
‼️It just doesn’t adjust to you.

If you learn how it operates, you stop fighting it
and start advancing.

Save this if you are serious about building here.
Send it to someone who feels stuck but refuses to shrink.

This page grew quickly but the story behind it was built slowly.

So many of you joined recently it felt like the right moment to reintroduce myself.

This page is built on real stories, lived experience and growth across borders.

I’d love to get to know you better.

Where are you joining from and what would you like me to talk more about here?
People told me I would never succeed in Germany.
Not with my name.

“Srbuhi?” They couldn’t even pronounce it.

Here’s what helped me to play it right: ⤵️

1️⃣ Be resilient.
Push back. Try again. Then again.
Rejection in Germany is often procedural not personal. Persistence changes outcomes.

2️⃣ Be creative.
Germany isn’t built on creativity, it’s built on structure and rules. But within structure, there is room to move.
Learn the system first. Then play smart inside it.

3️⃣ Bring value. Always.
Titles don’t matter as much as contribution.
When you solve problems and make life easier for others,
the system makes space for you.

Germany is hard.
But it doesn’t decide your limits.

You do.

If you’re building a life here and it feels heavy
this is your reminder:

You are stronger than the system.

If you’re living in Germany, where are you on this journey right now?
