京都最古の由緒と広大な「一の鳥居」
一の鳥居をくぐると、目の前にはどこまでも続くような広大な芝生が広がっています。この開放感は京都の他の神社仏閣ではなかなか味わえないもので、神域の入り口としての清々しさを強く感じさせてくれます。
細殿（ほそどの）の前に作られた2つの円錐形の砂の山は、上賀茂神社のシンボルです。これは、御祭神が降臨したとされる背後の「神山（こうやま）」を模したもの。
鬼門などに撒く「清めのお砂」のルーツはこの立砂にあると言われています。よく見ると砂の頂には松の葉が挿されており、神様が降臨される際の目印としての役割を持っています。
境内を穏やかに流れる小川は、平安時代から変わらぬ情緒を伝えています。藤原家隆が「風そよぐ ならの小川の 夕暮れは…」と詠んだ舞台そのものであり、初夏には新緑、秋には紅葉が水面に映えます。
国宝の「本殿」と「権殿（ごんでん）」をはじめ、多くの重要文化財が立ち並んでいます。
21年ごとに社殿を修復する式年遷宮の伝統が守られており、常に凛とした、手入れの行き届いた美しさが保たれています。

❶東福寺（とうふくじ）
京都最大級の伽藍を誇る禅寺です。境内の渓谷「洗玉澗（せんぎょくかん）」に架かる通天橋からの眺めは圧巻です。秋の紅葉が有名ですが、今日の「青もみじ」の瑞々しさは、深呼吸したくなるような清涼感があります。
国宝の三門は、禅寺としては日本最古。その巨大な佇まいからは、かつての五山文学の隆盛が伝わってきます。
❷伏見稲荷大社（ふしみいなりたいしゃ）：全国に約3万社ある稲荷神社の総本宮であり、五穀豊穣・商売繁盛の神様です。
どこまでも続く朱色の千本鳥居は、まさに異世界の入り口。
稲荷山全体が神域となっており、山頂まで巡る「お山巡り」は1〜2時間くらい。
❸東寺（とうじ）：平安京の建立時から残る唯一の遺構であり、弘法大師に託された真言密教の根本道場です。
高さ約55メートルを誇る木造塔は、新幹線の車窓からも見える京都のランドマークです。均整の取れたその姿は、どの角度から撮っても絵になります。

唐澤山神社は、かつて「関東七名城」の一つに数えられた唐沢山城跡に鎮座する、歴史と自然が融合した神社です。
この神社の最大の魅力は、山城の遺構を活かした独自の景観です。見事な石垣や「竜神の火影」と呼ばれる古井戸などが今も残っています。
標高約240メートルの山頂付近からは関東平野を一望でき、天候に恵まれれば東京スカイツリーや富士山も見ることができます。
現在は「猫の神社」としても親しまれており、境内で穏やかに、だらけきって暮らす猫たちの姿があちこちで見られます。今日も猫のエサ持参で訪れている方がたくさんいました。

那須神社は、源平合戦の「屋島の戦い」で扇の的を射抜いたことで有名な那須与一が、必勝祈願をしたと伝えられる神社です。与一が奉納したとされる太刀や、弓道にまつわる信仰が今も息づいており、勝負事や目標達成の神様として崇められています。
現在の本殿や楼門は江戸時代初期に再建されたものだそうです。
鳥居から本殿へと続く参道は、杉並木に囲まれており、非常に落ち着いた雰囲気です。
楼門には細部まで意匠が凝らされており、私のように建築や歴史に詳しくなくても、その職人技の凄さを間近で感じることができました。
神社のすぐ隣には「道の駅 那須与一の郷」があります。
幕末から明治にかけて活躍した日本の近代看護の先駆者で「明治のナイチンゲール」と称される大関和とのコラボ御朱印がありました。
