This week each and every one of you learned one thing, and we hope that whatever that one thing is you learned you keep with you and you use for your future experiences. Whether it was your first year in camp or last take every lesson you learned this week and use it to better help YOURSELF as a cadet and as a leader you will never be forgotten Adventure camp of 26’. This year, the Southwest Nest says farewell to seven remarkable educators whose combined dedication has helped shape generations of Eagles. From art studios and woodshop classrooms to biology labs, history lessons, dual-enrollment courses, special education programs, athletic fields, and coaching sidelines, these teachers have poured their hearts into serving students for more than 30 years each.
When you think about it, the impact is almost impossible to measure. If each teacher taught an average of 200 students per year over 30 years, that’s about 6,000 students per teacher. Multiply that by seven retiring educators, and together they have touched the lives of an estimated 42,000 students! Hard to conceptualize!
Forty-two thousand young people who learned a new skill, discovered a passion, gained confidence, found encouragement, received guidance, or simply had someone believe in them when they needed it most.
Their legacy isn’t just found in lesson plans, projects, championships, lab reports, performances, or classroom achievements. It lives on in the countless Eagles who carry forward the knowledge, values, and memories these educators shared.
As they spread their wings toward new adventures, we thank them for the time, energy, patience, and love they invested in our school community. The Southwest Nest is stronger because of them, and their influence will continue to soar for years to come.
Please join us in celebrating these seven extraordinary educators and wishing them happiness, health, and endless opportunities in retirement.
Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever part of the Southwest family. 💜🦅
