I’ve been wanting this wall to feel a little more fun, but I didn’t want to paint or do anything too permanent.
So we added these felt tiles and honestly… I love how much warmer the room feels now and it’s something that my toddler also likes.
Sophia can pin her art to them, they help the room feel a little less echoey, and they’re renter-friendly too which is one less thing to worry about when we move out of this house.

I watched this video at least 20 times while editing it 🥹
I used to read to her when she was just a baby… and now she’s a big sister, doing for her sister what I used to do for her.
I know I’m not doing everything right as a parent, but if I could give one piece of advice — one that will always be my favorite — it would be this:
Read to them from day one.
Make it a habit, even if it’s just one book a day.
Because it’s not only about reading for hours or finishing every page. It’s about the connection you build in those little everyday moments.
And now watching them connect through books feels like the sweetest full-circle moment 🥹

With my second, I was determined to do “better.” But from the beginning, my supply was low. She started her life in the NICU, and at the hospital we were told to supplement with formula because she had lost too much weight.
I kept telling myself I could make it work if I just tried harder.
So I pumped constantly, breastfed, and supplemented with formula until my supply increased. It was a lot and I felt drained… but eventually I was feeding mostly breastmilk. I couldn’t slow down because it’d immediately go down.
Then at her 2-month checkup, we found out she still hadn’t gained enough weight, went from 50th percentile to 25th and were told that switching to formula might help and would be advised.
And honestly… part of me felt relieved.
Relieved because I finally felt like I had “permission” to stop putting so much pressure on myself. Permission to stop obsessing over pumping schedules, supply, and whether I was doing enough for her.
That’s when I realized just how mentally draining breastfeeding had become for me.
I also felt this fear that people would judge me for “giving up,” for not continuing to push through, because breastfeeding is supposed to be “best.” And yes, breastmilk is amazing. But your baby also deserves a happy, present mom. And if letting go of breastfeeding is what helps you become that, then you are still doing the best thing you can for your baby. 🫶🏼

This is actually our winter version and I’m currently updating it for summer 😅
But honestly this little setup helped so much. Toddlers process visuals so much easier than a bunch of verbal instructions, and it’s also helped her feel a lot more independent and confident during transitions.
Not perfect every time obviously 😅 but it definitely made leaving the house feel a lot less chaotic over here.

Not perfectly. Not without messes. But with so much pride 🥹
I’ve heard people tell me “just let her be a kid” but being a kid doesn’t only mean playing. it also means wanting to feel included, capable, and trusted in the world around them.

Sometimes I catch myself scrolling and thinking how easy motherhood looks for everyone else.
The clean homes, peaceful mornings, smiling kids, perfectly planned activities…
And then I look around at my own mess, overstimulation, laundry piles, tantrums, hard days, and moments where I feel completely overwhelmed.
But the truth is - social media is usually just a small highlight of someone’s day. Behind every peaceful 20-second clip is a real person who also loses patience sometimes, counts down to bedtime, feels guilty, cries, gets overstimulated, and wonders if they’re doing enough.
This is my reality too 🫶🏼
Motherhood can be beautiful and hard at the same time. And if you’re having one of those hard days lately - you’re definitely not alone. 🤍

Before you think, “how is that possible? Our mornings don’t look like this…” remember that you’re only seeing a 20-second clip. Between those moments there are sometimes meltdowns, distractions, and plenty of “no’s.” 😅
It’s not perfect, and it’s not supposed to be.
It’s about giving them the chance to try. Teaching them what the routine looks like so they can slowly learn to do things on their own instead of constantly being told step by step what to do.
Honestly, doing everything for them is usually faster and easier. But giving them independence teaches confidence, capability, and responsibility.
Yes, it takes more patience. Yes, it takes longer. But little humans love feeling capable 🤍

It’s been such a reminder that toddlers don’t always need “easier” — they just need things explained in a way they can understand.
