雨はプラチナで表現しており、見る人が動くことで、その表情が移ろうように描いています。
9月にニューヨーク・トライベッカのIppodo Galleryで開催する個展で展示予定です。
また少しずつご紹介していきます。
台風による急な日程変更にもかかわらず、お越しくださった皆様、本当にありがとうございました。また、当初予定していた土曜日にご来場くださった皆様には、お目にかかることができず、申し訳ありませんでした。
川崎さんと最後に一緒に参加したイベントは、セレネ美術館でのスケッチ会。その日もものすごい大雨だったので、きっとどちらかが雨女なんだね、と話していました。
あたたかいスタッフの皆様と、ご来場くださった皆様の熱心な眼差しに囲まれ、とても素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。ありがとうございました。

久しぶりの島根。島根といっても横に長くて、川崎さんは益田、私は吉賀町 （旧:柿木村）の生まれ。実は2人とも西の果て、岩見です。
柿木は生まれだけで育ちは埼玉ですが、子供の頃、川で遊び、お神楽を見て、五右衛門風呂に入ったのをよく覚えてます。また院展にちゃんと出品していた頃、春の院展の松江展の開会にも参加し、個展も二度開催させていただき、地元の方にとても優しくしていただきました。
今回の2人展開催場所は、その二つともまた地域は違いますが、お近くへお越しの際は、ぜひお立ち寄りください。

Hydrangea season has come to Japan.
The ones in our tiny garden have quietly begun to bloom, just as I had hoped.
I’m currently working on a new piece inspired by hydrangeas for my upcoming solo exhibition in New York this fall.

I’ve been trying to capture the fleeting beauty of the four seasons. These works will be on view at my upcoming solo exhibition in New York.
I will be in New York from August to September to join an artist residency program, and I will also have a solo exhibition in September. Although the two are not directly connected, I hope they will stimulate and influence each other in meaningful ways.
Recently, I’ve been developing my thoughts on Japanese aesthetics in order to position my work within both the contemporary art world and the tradition of Japanese painting. In particular, I’m deeply interested in the subtle light created by metal leaf. I feel that this light creates an invisible margin between the work and the viewer, allowing for a meditative and immersive experience.
A busy season ahead.
