📍Charlotte’s Eats and Sweets
Some of the best pies in the entire state are hiding in Keo, Arkansas 🥧
Charlotte’s Eats & Sweets is famous for their homemade pies, especially the coconut cream, and once you see the size of these slices, you’ll understand why people drive from all over just for dessert. They’re MASSIVE, insanely good, and worth every mile. The chocolate pie is a close second for me 😍
Only 30 minutes from Little Rock, but a destination all on its own and don’t skip lunch either. Their sandwiches and lunch plates are also amazing! Make sure to get a few slices to bring home.

If you’re looking for a true Arkansas adventure, this scenic loop from Mena through the Ouachita Mountains and back is one of the prettiest you can take.
It’s a route filled with mountains, lakes, waterfalls, hiking, and peaceful forest roads, some of them paved, others winding over gravel and dirt. It’s a great time of year to go out chasing waterfalls!
If you need a place to stay during your roadtrip you can get 15% off your stay at Queen Wilhelmina Lodge with code WINTER15 through February 3rd, 2026.
1. Start your trip in Mena, AR with some pizza at The Ouachita’s to fuel up for your big day!
2. Then head south toward the Brushy Creek Recreation Area on the Cossatot River. This is a beautiful spot for a picnic or a quick swim in warmer weather.
3. From there, continue on to Shady Lake Recreation Area, a quiet mountain lake surrounded by trees and a pretty spillway waterfall. There is a swimming beach if you are here in the summer.
4. Next up is Bard Springs, a hidden gem tucked deep in the forest with a beautiful pool where water spills over a small stone dam. It is relaxing and refreshing and feels like a fairytale.
Finally, make your way through the gorgeous Albert Pike area to Little Missouri Falls. You will be on gravel roads, but it is worth it. This is one of the most beautiful drives in the state with a stunning waterfall.
6. Next you will continue back up the dirt road to the serene Highway 8 and then back to Mena. If you want to continue up a bit further past Mena, head to the Beautiful Queen Wilhelmina State Park for hiking and incredible mountain vista views.

🎄 If you’re looking for a Christmas experience that wow’s the whole family, you’ve got to make plans to visit Lights of the Delta in Blytheville, AR. This is not just lights — it’s the drive-through holiday wonderland of the Mid-South: over 6 million lights, over 50 major motion light displays, and a 1.5 mile drive surrounded by lakes and trees! Plus a ton of holiday cheer!
🚗 You can cruise through in your car, truck, or van for only $10 per vehicle (Tuesdays are half-price — so just $5!).
🌟 But if you really want to soak up the magic together, I absolutely recommend booking a hayride — especially for bigger groups or just a cozy family outing. Each trailer holds up to 20 people (you can book two if you have a really big group so it would fit 40!) giving you all the lights and holiday cheer without having to drive.
🎅🏼 There are also photos with Santa at Jingle Bell Park (Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays) where you can also enjoy mid-ride concessions: think hot cocoa, popcorn, snacks, and of course their special Lights of the Delta ornaments.
✨ People come from all over Arkansas — and even from other states — just to see this magical show. It’s become a holiday tradition for so many families.
🎁 This Christmas, skip the same old routine and make memories: pull up with your friends and family, grab some cocoa, hop on a hayride or cruise slowly through the lights, snap a Santa pic, and soak in the glow. The holiday season doesn’t get more festive than this! 🎄❤️
