We were trying to tell a story within a closed room. We thought it would be easy and quick since it was a controlled setup. But even though everything was under our control, it still took a lot of effort and patience to make it happen.
We literally took a shot 18 times to get the perfect one!
I’ve never written such a detailed post about a shoot before because I know that with every shoot, we try, we learn, and we implement those learnings. But yesterday was different.
We had two incredibly passionate performers, and. Before the shoot, our actress/dancer got injured—both of her legs were swollen. Yet, she didn’t complain even once. As a director, I kept asking her to dance until we got the perfect shot.
never questioned a single shot. was the savior of the entire set. was handling two roles at the same time—a perfect partner and an amazing dancer. put in relentless effort behind the camera until we got the shot we wanted. The best thing about him? He never once said, “Let’s skip this.” He kept shooting until the scene was approved.
The results will be out soon, but the energy we created and shared on set was on another level!
We do a lot of things while exploring art, but some experiences stay with us forever. This shoot was one of them.
We had every reason to settle for something average, but we kept going until we got the very best out of it.
