Favorite Michigan Memory:
One of my favorite Michigan memories was playing Glinda in the Wicked halftime show at the Big House. I still remember going to my first game as a first-year and being completely mesmerized by the size of the stadium. There was something so electric about it that from that moment on, I dreamed of performing there one day. So getting to do it, and as one of my dream roles, felt unreal.
My parents even flew in from Mexico to see it, and they got to experience their first football game, which made it even more special. Another wonderful thing about was that the entire process was so much fun; the Michigan Band welcomed us so warmly, and I felt this incredible sense of trust and support from everyone involved.
What does the Michigan Difference mean to you?
I believe that the Michigan Difference consists of three main factors: gratitude, curiosity, and legacy. I feel incredibly fortunate to be in an environment that emphasizes the power of gratitude, where thank-you notes are as important as hitting a musical note right. Another factor is that this program encourages us to stay curious, not only about others but also about ourselves, exploring every facet of who we are as artists and humans. Some of my most meaningful experiences have come from collaborating with classmates and friends who have explored their curiosity and stepped into roles as directors, composers, and writers. Finally, the sense of legacy and community within this program is unbelievable. There is something special about having tons of alumni come back to teach and share wisdom with us because they care about this school and the legacy they now get to participate in.
