Casa El Espino, en Valle de Bravo, no se impone sobre el paisaje: se acomoda en él, permite que el terreno hable primero y convierte la topografía, la luz y el clima en sus verdaderos maestros.
Antes de imaginar líneas, techumbres o materiales, el equipo de SOA (Soler Orozco Arquitectos), encabezado por Juan Soler y Alan Orozco, y el de DIRECCIÓN, liderado por Mariana Morales, caminaron la propiedad: una loma entre dos cañadas que conectan el bosque de pino con la selva baja espinosa de Valle de Bravo. Nada en ese recorrido era la imagen típica del valle húmedo y verde que todos imaginan. Aquí, el terreno era seco, bajo, lleno de matices ocres y sombras duras. El primer gesto fue aceptarlo tal como era. “El terreno y todo lo que se relaciona con él fue la inspiración principal”, recuerdan los arquitectos.
La historia de Casa El Espino se cuenta también desde su luz. Afuera, la geometría lineal produce sombras precisas, casi gráficas. Adentro, los techos de madera teñida de negro atenúan el brillo y lo convierten en penumbra cálida.
