Once a 19th-century tobacco farm, it came into our family as an old farmhouse full of silence, history… and work. So much work.
For years, together with our father, we restored it slowly. Season after season. We never wanted to erase its past. We wanted to listen to it, protect it, and give it a new life.
The restoration continued until we finally opened the doors in 2012.
Today, Fontegirasole is home to five country homes, surrounded by fields, olive trees, gardens and that endless Umbrian light — from the first soft sunrise to the last golden light of sunset.
It is a place for families to come together again. For grandparents, children and cousins sharing long tables. For family reunions where everyone has their own space, but no one is ever far away. For children running barefoot, discovering the countryside, making friends with nature and forgetting, for a while, about screens and schedules.
This is what Country Slow Living means to us.
Not luxury that shouts.
But space. Light. Time.
Fontegirasole follows the sun.
From the first light of sunrise to the last light of sunset, the house is surrounded by light all day long.
And perhaps the most beautiful part is knowing that the old tobacco farm our father helped us save is still doing what a home should do:

Like many parents, they were wondering the same thing: in a world of screens, schedules, and endless distractions, what do children really remember from a family vacation?

Quick Pasta Dough Recipe:
• 100g semolina flour
• 50g egg (about 1 medium egg)
• 1 tablespoon olive oil

1) zest your courgette flowers without pistils (even if I’ve just read that they are really healthy)
2) sauté a little of garlic of the Val di chiana, anchovies and a very very little piece of 🌶️ in Extra virgin olive oil. Add the zest.
3) Cook spaghetti alla chitarra al dente
4) Add spaghetti on the sauce pan with few spoon of their boiled water.
5) Add the black truffle as much as you like!
