1️⃣ Air pollution (aka environmental stressors)
Air pollution includes tiny particles, toxins, and pollutants in the air that settle on the skin throughout the day. These environmental stressors can penetrate the skin especially when the skin barrier is weakened or not fully repaired leading to inflammation, irritation, and breakouts.
👉🏼This is exactly why antioxidants and SPF are NON-NEGOTIABLE. Antioxidants help protect the skin from daily environmental damage, while SPF protects the skin from UV-induced stress that worsens barrier damage and acne. A strong, well-repaired barrier matters, but daily antioxidants + SPF every single morning are the KEY to protecting your skin from this kind of ongoing damage.

2️⃣ Not cleansing off sweat
When sweat sits on the skin, it mixes with oil, bacteria, and debris, which can clog pores and trigger breakouts. This is especially true after movement, workouts, or long days out. Cleansing as soon as you get home helps prevent buildup, reduces inflammation, and keeps pores clear.

3️⃣ Using trending products and trending skincare tools
Viral skincare tools can be extremely damaging. Strong suction, friction, or pressure can bruise the skin, disrupt the barrier, and cause irritation that leads to more breakouts. But trending skincare products can be just as problematic. Even something as “harmless” as a viral glass-skin mask can be the reason your acne flares again.
👉🏼Always check the formula before buying or applying anything. Avoid at all costs: fragrance/parfum, essential oils, drying alcohols, and other common skin irritants. Barrier damage = more breakouts.

4️⃣ Dirty towels and pillowcases
Towels and pillowcases collect oil, dead skin cells, bacteria, leftover makeup, and skincare residue. Reusing them transfers all of that right back onto your skin, increasing the risk of clogged pores and acne. Clean towels and frequently washed pillowcases are a simple but powerful habit for clearer skin.

If someone had told me I was perfect the way I was back then, I would’ve laughed. I would’ve assumed they were lying or just saying it to make me feel better, because I genuinely couldn’t see it for myself. My skin made me feel insecure, uncomfortable, and constantly focused on what was “wrong” with me instead of everything that was still right.

So when the lyrics say “oh how I wish you’d wake up one day,” it feels like me talking to my past self. I wish she could’ve woken up and realized that she didn’t need to look a certain way to be worthy, loved, or enough. That her acne never took away from who she was, even when it felt like it defined everything.

This video isn’t about reaching some final version of myself or pretending that healing was easy or linear, because it wasn’t, and it still isn’t. I’ve just learned over time that my happiness can’t be dependent on how my skin looks. I’ve experienced enough with my skin to understand that ups and downs are part of the process, and that doesn’t mean I’m failing or going backwards.

What matters to me now is health, consistency, and taking care of myself without punishment or obsession. I still care about my skin, but I don’t let it control how I feel about myself anymore. There are so many parts of me and my life that matter so much more than my appearance, even though social media and society have tried to convince us otherwise.

There’s no angle here other than being healthy, learning, sharing, and showing myself the same kindness I wish I had back then.

Being real with you, showing my raw, unfiltered acne journey is such an important part of this page.
So I hope you find some comfort on this side of the internet and stay as long as you want to.

The best trio❄️

✨The Resurfacing AHA/BHA + Niacinamide Pads (almost 12% exfoliating acids) help unclog pores, lift dead skin cells, brighten tone, and smooth texture for that resurfaced, radiant look. They also help minimize pore appearance.
They’re powerful, so frequency matters.
If your skin is sensitive, start once or twice a month. Other skin types may tolerate every few weeks, then slowly build up only if your skin agrees. Exfoliation works best when it’s used thoughtfully, overdoing it can compromise your barrier and slow healing, so always listen to your skin.
Bonus: these are also great for helping unclog pores around ingrown hairs.

💧The Exo + Ectoin Intensive Repair Baume is the recovery step. It uses a retinol alternative, peptides (one of my favorite ingredients ever), allantoin, and 5% beta-glucan complex to calm, hydrate, firm, and support collagen production without irritation. It’s fragrance-free, dermatologist tested, and designed to strengthen the skin barrier while improving elasticity and smoothness.

👄And the Triple Lipid Lip Treatment seals it all in. A buttery-but-light texture that deeply hydrates, plumps, smooths fine lines, and repairs the lip barrier (one of the thinnest and most vulnerable areas of skin). No fragrance, no stickiness, just long-lasting moisture and a soft, glossy finish that’s perfect for winter.

Healthy skin comes from respecting your barrier, especially in this harsh winter❄️

Thank you for making barrier care so easy✨

14 years later…

Struggling with acne since I was 8 was never something I could’ve prepared myself for, but this journey and struggle healed me in ways I never expected.

It taught me so much about skin, about myself, and about other people.

I learned who my real friends were, I learned how to love myself no matter what, and I learned how to truly care for my skin in the process.

Acne is so much more mental than people realize. It affects your confidence, your self-worth, and how you see yourself, inside and out.
I was bullied and made fun of for my skin.
Even after Accutane, I still struggled.

Acne isn’t just physical.
It can change your life.

This journey taught me resilience, patience, and self-compassion and even now, I’m still on this journey. The struggle can heal, but the journey never really ends.

I still worry about acne, I still work hard to maintain my skin, and I still carry acne trauma.

In 2024, I didn’t realize I was actually making my acne worse. I was using skincare that wasn’t right for my skin type, I was over-exfoliating daily, and I was using harsh formulas with fragrance, essential oils, drying alcohols, and non-barrier-supporting ingredients.

In 2025, I went to school to truly learn skincare.
I finally understood my skin type and how to support it properly, and that’s when real healing began, including fading my post-inflammatory erythema (red acne marks).

Throughout 2025, my skin healed.
And quietly… the 14-year battle ended.

I never gave up, even when it was hard.

Some people might say it wasn’t worth it but it was, and I’m so proud of myself for continuing.

I learned confidence, I learned self-love beyond appearance, and I see people completely differently now. I’m no longer obsessed with how I look, or how others look.

I proved to myself that it really is going to be okay no matter what, and that what we look like doesn't actually matter as much as we think it does.

If you’re still in the middle of your acne journey, this is your sign.
Don’t give up.
It’s always going to be okay.

1️⃣ Drying out my acne
I used to think stripping my skin of its oil and “drying out” pimples would make them heal but, it didn’t.
Drying acne treatments damage the skin barrier, increase inflammation, and slow the acne healing process. Acne-prone skin needs barrier-repairing, calming, and hydrating skincare, not harsh or alcohol-heavy formulas.

2️⃣ Over-exfoliating every single day
I used an exfoliating cleanser and a chemical exfoliant once or twice daily, meaning I exfoliated 2–3 times every single day.
This completely compromised my skin barrier, leading to redness, irritation, sensitivity, inflamed breakouts, and more acne.

More exfoliation ≠ clearer skin.

3️⃣ Having a 15-step skincare routine
I believed more products meant better results for acne. In reality, overloading damaged skin with too many products only increases irritation and breakouts. Once I switched to a simple 5-step skincare routine, my acne-prone, sensitive skin finally started to heal.

4️⃣ Using trending skincare products instead of the right ones
Some viral skincare products are great- for the right skin type.
But when you’re dealing with acne, a damaged skin barrier, or sensitive skin, using trending products can slow your skin healing journey.
What works on someone with genetically clear skin won’t always work for acne-prone or inflamed skin.

Healing acne isn’t about trends or aggressive products. It’s about understanding your skin type, repairing your skin barrier, and using the right skincare ingredients consistently.

YOU DON'T NEED EXPENSIVE SKINCARE!

From $12 serums to $100+ serums, I’ve tried it all, and the idea that skincare won’t work just because it’s affordable is simply NOT true.

Yes, there are brands that sell products for $5–$8 because they source extremely cheap ingredients and still turn a profit, BUT- that doesn’t mean every affordable product is low quality.

👍🏼There are $15–$20 formulas that are science-backed, well-researched, properly tested, cruelty free, and incredibly effective.

✨I healed my painful, cystic, hormonal, genetic acne with an affordable routine.
No 15 steps. No luxury price tags.
Just a simple 5-step routine (including cleansing) using fragrance-free, barrier-supportive formulas without drying alcohols or essential oils. Many of those products were under $30, and they changed my skin.

💰I’ve had clients pay $150 for a serum marketed for blemish-prone skin, only for it to be packed with fragrance and drying alcohols, damaging their barrier and making acne healing harder and longer but, this is not my clients fault. It's brands profiting off of our desperation and it's not okay.

🤫Some luxury brands- SkinCeuticals, Tata Harper, Murad, La Mer, etc.- have products priced so high with such damaging formulas it’s honestly shocking. Some moisturizers cost $525. That is not a miracle. It’s marketing. Expensive does not mean effective, and in many cases, the formulas are actively irritating and much more damaging than drugstore skincare.

Good skincare should be accessible. Brands that truly care about skin health don’t rely on fear-based marketing, slap “acne-prone” on the label, add irritants, and charge you the price of rent.

Affordable skincare works. Expensive skincare can work, IF the formula is right but it's certainly not a necessity.

💲High price does not equal performance.

If there’s one thing I want you to remember: don’t fall for the price tag, just read the formula. You can reach your skin goals without going broke.

And if you want help building a routine that supports your skin and your budget, my DMs are always open for consultations 🤍
It all started when I was 9.
Tiny texture bumps turned into painful, inflamed acne that took over my face, chest, and back- and my life.

I tried everything on the shelves. Nothing worked. And the comments at school? Brutal.
From “pizza face” to worse... (you know who you are.)
I missed school. I cried in front of mirrors. I would wake up, try to cover it with makeup, realize it wasn’t enough, cry it all off and stay in bed for the rest of the day.

I was 9.

I felt out of place at my dance competitions because I was the only one who had to cover my body acne with foundation in our costumes but, at least I was surrounded by the best people there and that helped a lot.

Eventually, I tried Accutane for 5 months. It helped so much- until my acne came back (this time not as bad, but still painful).
And this time, I refused to give up.

I learned everything I could about skin.
I studied ingredient science, formulation, skin biology, skin types, barrier repair- everything.
I earned my certification and stayed up until 4am reading ingredient dictionaries.

And slowly… my skin healed.
Not because of miracle products- but because I learned to support my skin instead of hating and punishing it.
No more harsh routines. No more fragrance overload. No more blaming myself.

My acne was genetic and hormonal- not caused by dirt, food, or laziness. Acne was never my fault, and it’s not your fault either. 🤍

Now, I share everything I learned so no one has to feel as lost as I did. Whether you have 3 pimples or years of cystic acne- you deserve education, support, and compassion, not shame.

I became the person I needed when I was 9.
And if you need someone on your journey, I’m here. Always. 🫶

Your skin does not define you.
Your acne is not your identity.
Healing is possible- emotionally and physically- and you deserve both.

To anyone struggling right now:
You’re strong. You’re beautiful. And you’re not alone.
You'll get there I promise.

How we did this⬇️

She tried everything.
Dermatologists, Accutane (multiple times), Spironolactone, Doxycycline, Tactupump, Winlevi, birth control, diet changes, drinking water, leaving it alone- you name it. Nothing worked. For years, she felt hopeless and defeated.

After all that, she decided to put her trust in me instead because I felt so confident I could help her. That’s when I started building her new skincare routine- one I customized entirely for her skin type, her skin history, and her skin concerns.

Studying skincare for years and becoming a skincare consultant, I knew I could help her. I analyzed every detail of her skin: we talked forever about her skin type, triggers, history, sensitivity. I designed a simple, gentle, barrier-repairing routine- no unnecessary actives, no 15-step chaos, just the right mix of hydrating, soothing, and science-backed products.

And she did it.
She trusted the process. She stayed consistent.
She believed in me, but more importantly- she believed in herself.

Her skin healed from the damage of Accutane, the dryness, the scabbing, the inflammation.
Now, she’s left only with a few pitted scars and some PIE (post-inflammatory erythema)- a beautiful sign of how far she’s come. Her skin is healthy, clear, and glowing from the inside out.

Seeing her smile now is priceless and I can see her happiness radiating through her skin, and it reminds me exactly why I started this page: to help people because I know exactly how it feels.

To have someone helping you who's been through exactly what you have been through is a different type of understanding and love.

Because I know how it feels to try everything and still feel stuck. I know how it feels to never want to leave the house or look in the mirror.
But you can heal. You’re not broken.
Sometimes all your skin needs is gentleness, patience, and someone who truly understands.

I’m so proud of you, Isobel.
You’re unstoppable.🤍

Thank you to those who've made this process possible✨
