Pippin is a very intelligent little guy that just craves companionship. He is very affectionate and loves to give kisses and snuggle up to show his love. Pippin is very low maintenance and doesn't need much except his humans. Warning he's very clever and will have you wrapped around his pinky toe doing his every whim since he's adorable unless you set clear limits and rules.
Pippin is friendly with dogs, he would be happy living with other dogs or as a solo dog. Pippin has a prey drive, he would do best with a cat free home. Pippin is uncomfortable with some handling, he requires a home with older children or no children. Pippin is a low energy guy, he loves his neighborhood walks and short greenbelt trails.
Pippin is crate trained but he much prefer to be with his people, having people home more often is a preference for him and he would not enjoy being left home alone for full work days. Pippin is potty trained. Pippin is uncomfortable and scared with some handling like grooming, putting on and off a harness and sometimes the leash. His foster family has been working on positive associations with things that scare him, he will need a family who is committed to continuing with this training. Pippin had to have all his teeth removed, he requires a diet of soft food. Pippin does great in the car.
Pippin is a charmer! Most people who meet him are instantly enamoured by his sweet nature. He loves belly rubs or snuggling up curled up in your arms when you are on the couch. Pippin is ready to be his forever family’s ultimate companion.

Fenced Yard: Preferred
Location: This puppy is looking for a home in the Ottawa / Gatineau area as she still has standard vetting covered by the adoption fee to complete at our vet in West Ottawa.
Adoption fee: $900
None of our dogs are candidates for dog parks due to risk, so if these are important to you, please do not apply.
Only best matched applicants will be contacted.
Mira is a smart, spirited girl full of confidence and charm, with just the right amount of puppy mischief to keep life entertaining. She absolutely loves being the center of attention and greets new people and dogs with excitement, friendliness, and a wagging tail.
Like many puppies, Mira is still learning about the world around her. Strange objects and big noisy things like cars can make her pause for reassurance, but with gentle encouragement she bravely investigates, gives things a sniff, and moves right along. She looks to her people for guidance and support, making it clear she’s eager to build a strong bond with her family.
Mira is crate trained. She may voice her opinions with a little protest barking at first, but she settles nicely and naps comfortably for several hours. She is crated when left home alone and is doing well with overnight sleeping.
This clever girl is highly food motivated and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement training. She’s very intelligent, eager to learn, and quick to pick up on routines. Mira thrives with consistent structure, clear boundaries, and patient guidance to help her become her very best self. She does have a stubborn streak which means she’ll absolutely test the rules if given the chance.
House training is still a work in progress, as Mira is learning that potty breaks belong outside only.

Kalea
Mixed Breed
Female
1.5 years
11.3 kgs (24.8 lbs)
Dogs: Possibly with slow introductions
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes
Housing Type: Any
Fenced Yard: Preferred but not required
Location: We are looking for a home in Ottawa/Gatineau area
Adoption fee: $900
None of our dogs are candidates for dog parks due to risk, so if these are important to you, please do not apply.
Only best matched applicants will be contacted - we are 100% volunteer run and do not have the resources to respond to every applicant or inquiry.
Kalea is as sweet as they come! She is a playful, cuddly girl who loves the simple things in life (treats, food, playtime and cuddles)!
Kalea just loves life and is such a happy and loveable girl! She is low-medium and energy and is loving longer walks, sniffing and exploring now that the warmer weather is around!
Kalea lives with two kids (7 & 11 years old) and she absolutely adores them! Kalea loves to give them kisses, cuddles and play fetch with them! She gets excited and wags her tail when meeting new people and kids on walks. Kalea also lives with a cat who she likes to attempt play with as well as nap and cuddle beside. As always, we recommend slow and proper introductions with children and all other animals. Kalea does not live with another dog but she has enjoyed walks with other dogs in her neighbourhood. She can be a bit timid when meeting new dogs so we would recommend a dog of similar size and energy.
Kalea is fully crate trained and is doing very well with her house training as well! She may still need some guidance with house training in her new home during the transition period. Kale is quiet in her crate with the exception of an initial whine or bark but she settles quickly with the help of an appropriate toy or chew.
Kalea loves the car!!! So much so that you will need to be careful when leaving the house as she may want to follow you. She would make an excellent road trip companion and would love to accompany you on as many adventures as possible!

Grooming isn’t just about keeping your dog looking cute, it’s an important part of their overall health and wellbeing. From preventing painful matting to catching early signs of skin issues, grooming helps your dog stay comfortable, confident, and happy.
Why Grooming Is So Important:
• Healthy skin & coat - Regular brushing removes loose fur, dirt, and debris while distributing natural oils.
• Mat prevention - Mats can pull on the skin, cause infections, and be extremely painful.
• Early health checks - Grooming lets you spot lumps, bumps, parasites, or injuries early.
• Comfort & mobility - Overgrown nails affect posture and can lead to joint issues.
• Bonding time - Gentle grooming builds trust and strengthens your relationship.
💛 How to Make Grooming a Positive Experience:
• Go slow. Start with short, calm sessions and build up gradually.
• Use high-value treats. Reward often so grooming becomes something to look forward to.
• Choose the right tools. Brushes, combs, and nail trimmers should match your dog’s coat and comfort level.
• Create a calm environment. Soft music, a non-slip mat, and a quiet space make a big difference. For some dogs, medication or supplements that will help them relax may be beneficial.
• Respect their boundaries. If your dog is stressed, take a break. Forcing it only makes grooming harder next time.
• Keep sessions short. Frequent, brief grooming is better than long, overwhelming sessions.
• A Consistent grooming routine is important. Especially for fearful or nervous dogs, a consistent grooming routine will help dogs know what to expect, which reduces stress over time. They will build confidence through routine, predictability, and gentle repetition.
✂️ When to Call in a Professional:
If your dog has a high maintenance coat, severe mats, anxiety around handling, or medical needs, a professional groomer can help keep them safe and comfortable. Many groomers are trained in gentle handling and fear free techniques. You can also speak with your Veterinarian about proper grooming techniques for your dog or cat.

We are so pleased to introduce Joyce! Joyce is the mama of our Strangers Things litter and now it is her turn to find her forever home!
Joyce is a charmer! She is shy when meeting new people but she warms up quickly with patience and slow introductions. When you get to see her affectionate side you will fall in love instantly! Joyce loves her foster parents and will give them gentle nose nudges when she wants pets, attention or food!
Joyce is a medium energy girl who absolutely loves walks and play! She is doing well with learning proper leash manners but she will still pull and get excited when she sees a squirrel or another dog she wants to meet! We believe Joyce would make an excellent running partner with more training and practice with her leash skills!
Even though this beautiful girl is a mama, she’s still a puppy herself at heart! Joyce loves to play fetch and chew on her dog-safe bones at home! She is very smart and can sometimes get bored at home but she isn’t destructive and will only chew on designated dog toys. She would love a home that will prioritize her mental enrichment as well as physical activity.
Joyce loves to meet new dogs on walks and she has lived with other dogs in the past. She can show some guarding towards other dogs when a high value toy is involved so this would have to be monitored if she were to live with another dog. She would also do well as an only dog with lots of dog friends for her to play with. We don’t know how she would be with cats but given her propensity for squirrel chasing it may not be the best match.

BONDED PAIR – Athina (female, 5 years old) & Brownie (male, 3 years old)
Meet the adorable duo, Brownie and Athina, a bonded pair looking for a forever home together. These two are the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and easygoing, and they share a truly special connection that makes them even more lovable as a team.
Brownie is the ultimate cuddle bug! He absolutely loves attention and will happily be right by your side (or directly in your face!) soaking up all the pets and affection he can get. He’s sweet, goofy, and always ready to remind you how much he loves his people.
Athina is a little more reserved when meeting new people or exploring new situations, but once she learns to trust you, her gentle and loving personality shines through. She adores cuddling with her humans and staying close to her beloved brother. Watching Athina gain confidence with Brownie by her side is truly heartwarming.
Together, these two enjoy running and playing in their large fenced yard, sniffing every interesting scent they can find, lounging in the sunshine, and exploring backyard trails through the woods. They love chasing each other around, playing with the kids, and sharing happy adventures together.
Brownie and Athina are crate trained and settle in well with a routine. They do enjoy picking up and chewing on objects left within reach, so keeping tempting items put away will help set them up for success.

Today isn’t just about celebrating rescue dogs. It’s about honouring the work it takes to help them become who they’re meant to be, and the people who choose to show up for them, even when it’s messy, slow, or uncertain.
Rescue is:
The dog who is shut down, in the corner of a kennel.
The dog who ends up in an overcrowded shelter and needs a safe place to go.
The dog who’s never been inside a home.
The puppy who needs someone to help them become the best version of themselves.
The dog who needs vet care, structure, decompression, or a team of people willing to say, “We’ll figure this out together.”
We believe in meeting dogs where they are, supporting them with love & compassion, and matching them with fosters & adopters who understand that rescue can be a journey.
If a rescue dog has changed your life, share their photo! 🫶
