The darkest night of the year.
Time to honor the pieces of me that were never meant to be liked.

my Berlin Half Marathon was about winning. I won 3 minutes vs my previous best time on a half. wow, how is it even possible?
21.1 km in 82 minutes. Yeah!💥
and so much joy, gratitude and pleasure that I felt, so rewarding after what I’ve been through lately.
I turn 42 next week and I still do these winning things. GRATEFUL: to my team for your gentle approach and enormous support, to for being the best playground for progress, for perfect (almost) race day weather, to for this pair of rocket Alphafly 3, to for supporting me in pushing my limits, to for being my spontaneous pacer, and to myself for discipline and taking care of my head.

I wanted to look at myself in the mirror and see what kind of person I had become in summer 2024. thanks for these amazing work!
After dropping out of the Valencia Marathon last December, this year I decided to go and get it.
I ran the ready both physically and mentally: up to 25 km I was simply happy, then it became harder, but I continued to maintain the pace. I got best support from my people on the way.
After 34 km I realized that pain was inevitable and I decided to radically accept this pain, I merged with it and became this pain myself. The last battle in a marathon is always mental, not just physical, and you also need to train for this somehow, but usually this is not included in training plans.

I look at this time on my medal and still cannot believe the numbers - under 3 hours. But that‘s real! My previous PB was in Boston in 2022 - 3:06:26.
So I cut 7 min+ from my previous time.

I am proud that I could achieve such result at the age of 40. Facebook reminded me that I ran Berlin in 2017 in 3:56 and it was my PB, it is great to see how a human can progress with putting effort into the result.

Thanks and for the teamwork and Fedor for helping me progress.

Israel in January: an unexpected trip, meeting my family after such a long break, running by the sea, talking about the future and watching that future unfolds in front of me in one of the oldest places on the planet, coffee in the port of Yafo, the skyscrapers of Tel Aviv, the language I understand (!) and the almost Berlin level of diversity.

Today there is no escape from politics, and everything is perceived as political. But I will not allow myself to remain silent and invisible just because my actions can be interpreted as support or lack of support for one regime or another. I oppose violence and invasion.
People are above everything, not ideas/plans/regimes.

from my recent trip to NYC. was magic ✨
New PB half marathon 1:28:33 🔥Sometimes life gives you all at once, you just have to accept it and be grateful. Just a week ago, I was standing on the podium at the BTC regional cross-country competition, and I couldn't believe that someone like me could win a race. And just one week later, I'm standing on the podium again! ⚡️

My results at the Müggelsee Half Marathon: 1:28:33 minutes, 3rd overall and 1st in my age group. 💯

♥️ Huge kudos and thanks to:
- for offering to run together and giving me the feeling of girl power
- who was simply the best pacer
- the team who gave me such a positive vibe this morning
- the team and, who set the bar high and inspire me to think bigger
- Fedor, who sends me a weekly plan with lots of interval training, which has taken me to a level previously unimaginable to me

Today, I celebrate and feel truly happy! 🎉
I cannot be more grateful, this made me fly both physically and mentally.
I did it much better than I dreamed: 3:13:37!

Those who spent this summer with me know how hard I worked for this result. For me, a marathon is not the race day, it’s months of hard work I put into it. Finding time for my runs almost every day is not a joke.

In May, my parkrun fellow Fedor asked me if I want to have a plan for the marathon prep. I started doing 3 interval sessions a week (~6 sessions/week in total), which seemed crazy until I got used to it.

Each Wednesday, I ran with and this is was always awesome because they can make you feel uplifted even if you are down.
I joined in August and was amazed by the strength of the team members, and I felt like training together to see how I can grow in such strong team.

The week before the race, I felt empty and helpless, cause I could do nothing more than I did. But I calmed down the night before and slept like a baby.
During the race, I joined 3 h 15 min pacers and ran with them almost till the end. I somehow found energy to speed up in the last 2 km. When it hurts, it’s better to do it faster;)

I am very grateful for all the support and cheering during the race: Fedor for this killer training plan, my family who tracked me on the app and rooted for me, and who were tracking and cheering me too, squad, and, Denny who ran long runs with me, who took these pics, random strangers who shouted my name. Thank you! 🖤
Fun facts about the artist Yayoi Kusama (that make her awesome badass):

🔴 She was once kicked out of the Venice Biennale for trying to sell the mirror balls that make up her installation - she sold each for $2.

🔴 She wrote a short letter to Nixon asking him to cancel the Vietnam War (he apparently refused).

🔴 20 years after leaving for the United States, Kusama returned back to Japan and voluntarily went to a psychiatric clinic, where she actually lives to this day, working in the studio opposite.

Hallucinations have become her faithful companion since the age of ten, and this exhibition is an immersion in this crazy world of dreams with polka dots.
