I found this photo as a memory on my phone from 2 years ago. I used to do this a lot, and I really recommend it when growing out your grey…
In the first few months of my grow out, I used to take a selfie and crop out the brown hair, so I could get an idea what I would look like once my transition was complete. A completely grey woman.
Then I would crop out the white hair, so I looked brunette again.
It helped me to see both options next to each other; to compare them and to understand what I might look like at the end. Most importantly it helped reaffirm my decision, as I felt that I could have chosen either option at any time. After all, ultimately, the most important thing is to feel happy and confident with whatever you choose 😊
And now… I don’t have to imagine anymore! And I’m happy with my decision to persevere 🤍🤍🤍

So I got in touch with and I was given ‘true summer’ - with neutral undertone which leans cool. Which came as big surprise! The selection of colours I was sent was spot-on to be fair, all colours that I like and buy. But i was still to be convinced I wasn’t a winter. I was requested to do before and after using my season’s colours to see how I’m getting on. It wasn’t until I did this that I realised how spot on the analysis was. (Left image is ‘true summer’ and right is with clothes and makeup that I had that weren’t in my new palette, not necessarily ’winter’). These photos were taken 20 minutes apart, same position, natural light and no filters. And I look a different age in both! So regarding colour analysis, consider me a believer!

This last weekend were the practical exams for the Gold yoga teacher training - and I was so blessed to be a part of this.
Seeing the all the elements of what the trainees had learned over the last 15 months or so come together was beautiful to witness. And it reminded me of my own training journey 10 years ago.
This was a moment that will stay with me forever I’m sure…

I certainly have days, even now, where I question my decision to embrace the grey. Perhaps I would look younger if I still dyed it - but is that really my goal?
I want to look, and be, happy and healthy. Regardless of my age. And I am both those things. I really don’t want to get in the habit of chasing my 20s - when I’m far stronger, fitter, healthier and happier in my 40s! I’m in a new era.
And now my hair colour has become my ‘thing’, my ‘niche’, and I have to say, I’m actually really proud of it! Even though I did absolutely nothing to have it… it’s in my genes. BUT I did have the bravery to show it, grow it out, and now wear it with pride - no matter what other people think or say 🤍 💪
