« Les Torts des fantômes » emerged from an obsession: to recover the voices of queer Maghrebi individuals who moved through political struggles in France without ever finding a place in official narratives. Through archival research, collection, testimonies and visual and textual fragments, Sido Lansari seeks to resurrect the memory of figures who, as early as the 1980s, were already addressing issues of representation, social struggle, homosexuality and exile.

Exposition La Rhétorique du rideau, commissariat - à
Sido Lansari est un artiste plasticien et cinéaste, né en 1988 à Casablanca, au Maroc. Il vit et travaille à Paris. En 2014, il s’installe à Tanger et rejoint la Cinémathèque, dont il est le directeur de 2019 à 2022. En 2018, il est artiste résident à la Friche la Belle de Mai à Marseille, où il développe Les Derniers paradis, son premier court-métrage, Grand Prix 2019 du Festival Chéries-Chéris à Paris. Sa pratique artistique se déploie à travers la broderie et le textile, la vidéo, la photographie et l’installation. Le déficit de la représentation des personnes queer arabes dans l’histoire LGBTQIA+ en France le pousse à questionner cette absence et à en suivre les traces dans les archives, interrogeant ainsi les angles morts de la mémoire. Que ce soit par l’enquête historique, artistique ou médiatique, il cherche à rendre ces processus visibles ou à invoquer la fiction pour fabriquer les images manquantes. Son travail a été montré à l’Institut du Monde Arabe, à la Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo à Turin, au Medelhavsmuseet, musée des Antiquités méditerranéennes et du Proche-Orient à Stockholm, à l’Institut des Cultres d’Islam à Paris et au Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine à Bordeaux. En 2023, il est un des lauréats du Prix Utopi·e qui récompense la création LGBTQIA+ en France et depuis 2024, il est artiste-chercheur à l’école Supérieure d’Art de Clermont Métropole.

« Cela ne veut pas dire que les combats queer seraient terminés. Il s’agit simplement d’emprunter le même chemin qu’auparavant, mais de le faire avec davantage de joie encore. Car l’histoire continue évidemment de s’écrire, Sido le montre avec son projet portant sur Lahzem, le premier groupe homosexuel arabo-berbère fondé dans les années 1980 en France et dans le monde arabe. Ce faisant, il contribue à la construction d’un récit utile pour la communauté. » -

J'y présenterai dès ce soir et jusqu'à dimanche CHERCHE - Comme si les nouvelles étaient sans problèmes, une installation qui contribue modestement (et avec beaucoup d’émotion) à relayer la voix de LAHZEM, premier "groupe homosexuel arabo-berbère" de France.
