遠い昔、この巨樹は伐られ、長い年月をかけて中心部から徐々に朽ちて空洞化していった…。
やがて硬く分厚い外皮の部分のみが残り、それはまるで山脈の輪のような形態になった。
全身に苔を纏った連山には、今朝も水滴が光っていた。
第81回春の院展が日本橋三越にて開催されています。
今回の作品は、屋久島で取材したほぼモノトーンの作品ですが、額装を勝村装雅堂さんで四ッ手雲紋銀欄の裂地を使用して制作していただきました。
作品の世界観を、額で一層パワーアップしていただくのも楽しく、時折裂地に凝った額も作っていただいております。
3/25〜4/6まで日本橋で開催し、その後4/11〜4/19名古屋松坂屋など全国を巡回しますので、詳細は日本美術院ホームページにてご確認下さい。

初めてインドへ行ったのは29歳。
出会うもの全てに魂が揺さぶられました。
その感動をそのまま、山種美術館賞展の出品作に描き、優秀賞を受賞させていただきました。
それから毎年のようにインドへ取材に行き、とうとう文化庁在外派遣研究員としてインドに家族と共に一年住むことにしました。
若い情熱のこもった思い出の作品です。
この作品が2/28〜5/10山種美術館で開催されている「花flower華2026」で展示されています。

心より感謝申し上げます。
当初は大きな壁面がない美術館でのお誘いに半信半疑でしたが、工夫をこらして実現していただきました。そうしたら驚くことに、大会場とは異なり、森に包まれるような雰囲気が醸し出され、より身近に森を感じていただいたけるようになりました。
武蔵野美術大学美術館、名古屋松坂屋美術館、茨城県天心記念五浦美術館と巡回し、西日本で初めての展示となりました。幾つかの会場をご覧になってくださった方もいたり、激励のメッセージをいただいたり、地元TVや新聞で宣伝していただきありがとうございました。
これから2027年2月の100メートルの完成目指して懸命に描いてまいります。
今日も屋久島の森でスケッチをしていましたが、冬の森は手が悴む寒さです。
日暮れも早く、何日も通わないと一枚のスケッチが出来上がりません。
しかし森の空気を感じながら描いていきます。
また再来年、日本橋三越でご覧いただけたら幸いです。

初日は屋久島のような雨模様で始まりました。
悪天候の中、沢山の方々にご来場いただき、感謝申し上げます。
講演会は100名以上の方々へ、100枚以上使用したスライドを用意して、屋久島での取材や不死鳥制作の模様をお話ししました。
モスキートスーツや長靴、携帯テントまで用意してスケッチをしている写真をご覧いただき、スケッチへの執念が少しでもご理解いただけたかな？と思っています。
続いてのサイン会でも100名ほどの方々の図録や画集にしたのですが、時間がかかってしまい最後の方の方には随分とお待たせしてしまい恐縮でした。
展覧会準備から初日まで4日間滞在した新見市です。
晴天から雨の日も過ごしましたが、ある時は山霧が雲海のように漂い、満奇洞や井倉洞、羅生門などの神秘的な鍾乳洞があり、高梁川の清流がゆったりと流れ、穏やかな美しいところでした。
これからは紅葉も美しいと聞いております。
予約必須の やな木 も手打ち蕎麦とフレンチのとても美味しいお店です。

切れることなく絵が続いていくので、幅120センチのパネルを会場ごとに、どのように展示していくか悩みどころです。
今まで三会場で展示してきましたが、それぞれの会場ごとに展示の角の場所が変わるので、雰囲気も変わります。
四会場目となった新見美術館でも、図面で考えていた曲げ方と実際に見て、ここで曲げようとする場所も変わってしまったりします。
臨機応変に頑張ってくれるベテラン作業員さん達です。
