It is with mixed emotions and deep gratitude that I announce a big change at MK Quinlan.
For over three years (four if you count our previous space in Homewood), I’ve had the privilege of curating a brick-and-mortar shop - and website - that allowed me to express my creativity and personal aesthetic while also getting to know and build community with all of you. It has been dream of mine since I was a child, and I feel so thankful to have successfully steered this ship with the support and friendship of all of you.
But - as many of you may have experienced in your own lives - family comes first, and mine is being called to New York City. At the end of this month, I will be moving to Cobble Hill, Brooklyn to be closer to my husband’s company headquarters in New York City, a company he founded and whose office is growing significantly in the Big Apple. We’re not done with Birmingham for GOOD, just taking a few years for a big adventure;)
It’s no fun—and bad for business!—to run a company if you’re not on the ground with your team, so beginning this Thursday from 5-7 pm - with many cases of wine to pour - Karen and I will kickstart the closing of our beloved store with a big ass party.
