This book was published on the occasion of John Currin at Casa Malaparte, a one-night-only exhibition in July 2024 at Casa Malaparte, the famous cliffside house built on the Italian island of Capri by Curzio Malaparte. The exhibition featured paintings of female figures, domestic interiors, and vintage tableware, as well as two portraits on paper.

In addition to color plates, details, and installation views of the eleven exhibited works, the catalogue features eleven monochromatic drawings of women in bed that constitute studies for the exhibition’s figure paintings. It also includes “Eternity,” a short story by Emma Cline that draws on the resonance of Casa Malaparte’s extraordinary site, and “A Realist of the Incredible,” an essay by Carlo Falciani that traces the art historical sources of Currin’s work in the context of Curzio Malaparte’s own creative vision. James Turrell is taking over the Gagosian Shop in London’s Burlington Arcade from Wednesday, January 14, as part of “After Glow,” an exhibition of prints and related works inspired by “Aten Reign” (2013) and “Roden Crater” (1976–) that continues into the gallery upstairs.

Featured in the takeover are Turrell’s two limited-edition fragrances, Range Rider and Purple Sage, pictured here, which capture the natural scents of his native Arizona and represent the first time an artist has collaborated with Lalique on a perfume. Handcrafted in France from polished colored crystal and each available in an edition of one hundred, the bottle designs reflect Turrell’s fascination with the Egyptian pyramids, the dome-shaped stupas of Asian architecture, and other spiritual monuments that incorporate light into their designs. Published in 1972 during the “golden era” of Abrams monographs, this classic publication on Christo provides a well-illustrated overview of the artist’s early career, including an essay by David Bourdon. It features color and black-and-white photography of many of Christo’s first “Wrapped Objects” (1958–69), as well as a number of topographical maps and plans printed on vellum.

The book has a partially transparent plastic jacket through which a cross section of a drawing reproduced on the cover is visible, alluding to the “Wrapped Objects,” which alternately reveal and conceal the items’ identities. Follow the link in our bio to inquire.

This colorful two-thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle is based on a still from Urs Fischer’s “CHAOS #501” (2019–22), the culmination of a multiyear series of digital sculptures. In the work, all one thousand digital objects from the “CHAOS” series move independently of each other through a defined space. Each element in the series is based on an everyday object that has undergone a metamorphosis from physical to digital existence through a variety of scanning processes. The details and imperfections found in the physical world are intentionally preserved.

The puzzle is also available at Gagosian Shop in London’s Burlington Arcade as part of the artist’s Shop takeover and presentation of new works in the gallery upstairs. Follow the link in our bio to learn more or order yours!

The mordantly witty “Tituba” by Elif Batuman traces its unnamed protagonist’s attempts to write a novel focused on the first person to confess at the notorious Salem witch trials, an enslaved Indigenous woman from South America. Tussling with the nature of fiction in general and “womanly” literature in particular, the writer pursues her project over decades, up to and beyond the point of desperation, as parallels between the historical and the personal arise, dissipate, and return.

Matched with an artwork by Louise Bonnet, “Enclosure 1” (2025), the publication is part of Gagosian’s Picture Books, an imprint conceived by author Emma Cline and dedicated to publishing fiction by leading writers alongside contributions by celebrated contemporary artists. This comprehensive book was published on the occasion of “Nam June Paik: Video Time—Video Space,” concurrent exhibitions by the artist at Kunsthalle Basel and Kunsthaus Zürich in 1991, which traveled to Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Germany, and Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, Vienna, in 1992.

In addition to numerous artwork images and historical documentation, the book includes texts by more than twenty experts illuminating various aspects of Paik’s work as well as biographical notes, an exhibition history, and a bibliography. Paik’s own philosophical “Thoughts at Age Fifty-nine” is also featured, as is an evaluation of his musical performance art by his mentor, composer John Cage. This copy is signed, dated, and inscribed to “Aviva and Jacob [Baal-Teshuva]” by Paik and includes an original two-color wax crayon drawing on the front endpaper. This set of two publications was published to accompany “Exposition Picasso 1970–1972,” an expansive exhibition of Pablo Picasso’s final body of works at the Palais des Papes in Avignon, France, that opened in May 1973, a month following the artist’s death. Prepared by Yvonne and Christian Zervos, the exhibition included over two hundred paintings and drawings chosen by Picasso that were installed in the nave of the historic Chapel of Clement VI.

The set includes a softcover book documenting the exhibition as well as a folder of loose large-format color photographs of the installed exhibition. Both publications include an essay by René Char, an influential French poet who served in the Resistance during World War II and was close to Picasso. Follow the link in our bio to inquire.
