last fall we stopped into on our way through the tunnel of trees for a quick coffee and i stumbled upon the sweetest mini quilted coat hanging on their rack and i immediately feel in love and contemplated buying it for my future little mini! i took a picture of the tag and ended up doing some social media stalking and came across the maker which was! not only did she make custom mini jackets but she also makes custom quilted jackets for adults and i immediately knew i had to have one!!
from start to finish emily was so insightful and helped me make sure the coat was going to be exactly how i liked it! side pockets or front pockets, small buttons, big buttons, a tie, a hood, reversible or not, i mean she was ready to make my quilted coat dreams come true in everyway!! she let me choose between all of the quilts she had to offer or find my own quilt which i ended up just using one that she had and im so happy i did because she is finally complete and here and look at her!!
i got it slightly oversized so i could wear a cozy hoodie or sweatshirt under, longer sleeves so i could cuff them, and no hood since i would mostly likely be wearing something under it with a hood. between the colors, the buttons, the pockets… i am swoooning 🥹✨
cannot wait to take her on so many adventures, bonfires, beach walks, cottage stays.. and so much more!! thank you so much for working with me during this process and soooo grateful i stumbled upon your work, you are a gem! 💕
the second i arrived, i could feeeeel my nervous system shifting into rest mode. from the sand under your toes right off the back porch to the waves crashing against the shore in the backyard, to literally not being able to see across the lake (yes this is a lake not an ocean), sheeesh this is the recipe. northern michigan. lake michigan. windows open. fireplace on. tea > coffee. and phone on dnd.
our host is also THE ABSOLUTE BEST and makes sure we have everything we need to make the experience that much better. thank you for allowing my nervous system to rest and providing us such a safe, cozy, incredible place to spend our week!!

are there times that i wish i had more in life than i have right now? of course. but that’s the beauty in it. and that’s truly the heartbeat of why i do everything that i do. because i have big goals and dreams, and i will stop at nothing to achieve them.
i think a lot of us are chasing a version of life we think will finally make us feel fulfilled. the bigger house. the healthier body. the aesthetic routines. the version of ourselves we imagine will feel more confident, more successful, more peaceful.
but those things take time, sacrifice, healing, discipline, and growth.
it is okay to want more and still be happy with where you’re at.
after becoming a full time content creator, i found myself extremely stuck in comparison. i didn’t even want to post because i felt like my life or content didn’t look the way i envisioned it would.
but comparison was doing nothing except stealing my joy and holding me back from fully appreciating everything i had already built.
social media makes it easy to compare because it’s a highlight reel. what we want people to see.
where i’ve landed is this: yes, someone’s grass may be greener. and yours could be greener too someday. but there will always be greener.
all i’m really concerned about now is how my life feels to me. staying busy watering my own grass so it doesn’t matter if someone else’s looks greener.
you don’t have to hate where you are to want more for yourself. keep watering your life even if it doesn’t look like anyone else’s yet:)
