I don’t know where I got the inspo for this, but I decided to make a jumpsuit to show case the Amethyst colour way of the Sylvie Broderie Anglaise at the recent Knit + Stitch show at Alexandra Palace.

I used the #adelejumpsuit pattern by with the broderie. I even took the time to make a toile from an old duvet cover because I was worried about getting the fit right. I’m glad I did because it was useful to practice the gathered bust/bodice detail.

Because I didn’t want everyone seeing my undies, I also used some of the matching cotton lawn (called Palma on the FG website). I used it to line the bodice and the bottom part down to shorts length. The rest of the legs and rye sleeves are unlined.

I omitted the pockets for this version because no one wants to faff around sewing pockets into a half lined, semi opaque fabric amirite?

Full transparency: I got these fabrics for free to make a garment to help sell it at the show.

I’ve got a leeeetle bit left of these three fabrics (the bottle green and amethyst broderies and the solid amethyst cotton lawn). I’m going to bust them out in spring and see what I can squeeze out of it.

The brief I gave myself was - once I'd seen hack I couldn't get it out of my head 🤯 I lowered the neckline a little, took out the zip and instead added fabric covered buttons down the front ✂️
