So many people visited our shelter to meet our feline friends, and we couldn’t be happier to see so many gorgeous kittens and cats heading off to loving homes!
Alfonzo, Bunny, Bon Bon, Garthie, Harry, Luke, Pierogi and Tom were just a few of the lucky kitties who found their families. And Jalebi and Kunafah were adopted together, which means they can continue their journey side by side! 🐱🐱
We’re sure all these little fluffballs have been very busy exploring their new homes, soaking up all the love, and getting up to lots of mischief! And our tiny businessman, Philipee, closed the biggest deal of his life, signing on the dotted line with his new family and heading home for his next big adventure! 🐾

Who remembers this squishy, handsome boy? 🥰 Boris is a nine-year-old British Bulldog / boofhead who came into care earlier this year after his previous family had to suddenly move overseas.
From the moment he arrived, Boris had completely stolen our hearts. Big-hearted, super chatty and obsessed with love and attention, he quickly became a favourite around the shelter. Whether he was snoring away in the sunshine, leaning in for cuddles, or waddling over to say hello, Boris had a way of making you fall in love with him instantly.
We knew his family was out there waiting for him… and we were right. 🧡
Chanelle and her family had been searching for a Bulldog to join their family for a long time when they when they stumbled upon Boris’ big toothy grin. Their sweet Boxer, Pepper, was looking for a best friend to play with, and after learning more about Boris, the family knew he was meant to be theirs.
Last month, they officially welcomed Boris home, and since then, Chanelle says it feels like he’s always been part of the family.
He spends his days snuggled up with his family, going on relaxed adventures or snoozing (and snoring) spread out in the sun. And of course, enjoying the company of his new best mate, Pepper! 🥰 Whether they’re cuddled up together on the bed or watching the world go by from the window, these two are absolutely inseparable. 🥹
Chanelle says, “Boris is such a beautiful boy, and we feel so lucky to have him. We couldn't ask for a better dog. He is absolutely perfect and we absolutely love him! We feel our family is finally complete with him in our lives” 🧡
Watching dogs like Boris find their second chance will never stop being special to our team. We couldn’t be happier for this gorgeous boy and the incredible family he now gets to call his own!

Despite being an accidental litter, these pups were very loved by their previous family, who tried their best to give them a good start in life. But raising four rapidly growing puppies is no easy task, and as time passed, finding the right homes and support became overwhelming for them.
By the time they reached out to SCAR for help, the puppies were 3 months old and had sadly missed some important early socialisation and exposure to the world around them. So, everyday things like meeting new people, seeing other dogs, or exploring unfamiliar environments felt quite scary and overwhelming at first.
That’s where our team stepped in. 🧡
Little Mello, who was the least confident of the four headed straight into a calm, loving foster home where she has been slowly decompressing, learning to play, and build trust at her own pace.
Meanwhile, Bambi, Nelly and Zelda have been working closely with our shelter team as we gently help them navigate the world through positive reinforcement, slow introductions, enrichment and lots of patience.
And they’ve all been doing so well! ✨ Every day, these puppies learn that new experiences be safe and fun, and once they feel comfortable, their playful, affectionate personalities truly shine.
These little cuties aren’t ready for adoption just yet, but they’ve already come so far in such a short time. With lots of love and the right support and guidance, we know they’ll grow into the confident, happy doggos they were always meant to be… and we’ll be right by their side every step of the way. 🧡

Every day at SCAR, dogs and puppies arrive in our care carrying the weight of trauma, neglect, abandonment, and hardship.
Safe in our care, what these dogs need most is a space where they can finally feel secure. A space where they can breathe, stretch their legs, and simply be dogs again.
Right now, we’re working towards restoring and rebuilding our outdoor rehabilitation yard into a secure, enclosed sanctuary designed for healing and decompression. Somewhere our scared and shut-down dogs can slowly learn to trust again, build confidence, and rediscover joy at their own pace.
This is more than just an outdoor area. It’s a vital step in their journey from simply surviving… to thriving. 🧡
