London is known for so many various types of cuisine. Their fish and chips are my favorite and they’re just better there.
London is rich for its culture, history and well known landmarks.
But to me London is the place that cut thru my deep all consuming grief and set my love of travel back on fire. When I landed in London I was alive but I wasn’t living. I was very much a shell of a person. London was a crucial experience that pulled me out of the darkest of places. For that I’ll always be grateful. I’m also curious if I’ll ever come to love another city more than I love London.

The last 5yrs have certainly changed me and challenged me. In September of 2022 I finally took my first international trip and it felt like it brought me back from the dead. I’ve been on 4 international trips since and I have two more international trips booked for this year. I’m still finding myself after all that the last 3yrs has taken. But I’m back to posting my travels and exploring the world and trying to make sense of it all with you again! I’m also on a weight loss journey. (grief has not been kind to my body) and on a mission to live a balanced, happy and healthier life! Life is too short to waste it working away waiting for adventure after you retire. Hell many of us may never live to see retirement age. So this is my story and my comeback.

I currently work in a nonprofit and I absolutely love it. I get to help people and make the world a better place while funding my travels. It’s a win win. When I’m at home and not traveling I love to spend time doing art, photography, hiking, strength training and doing yoga and of course drinking coffee.
I have a little kitty cat named Leo and by little I actually mean big boy. He’s a ham and we love him all the same. ❤️
I originally went to school for early childhood education and then elementary education and worked in youth development for years. But now I’m a full time student getting my degree in marketing.

1. It’s good for your heart health❤️
One report showed that traveling regularly significantly decreases the risk of developing heart disease. This is probably due to the fact you may be exercising more (in the video I posted we walked over 25k before 3pm on a walking tour of London) traveling may provide for more time to rest and relax than in your usual day to day life. It gives you a chance to take your mind of the stressful parts of life and allows you to do things you enjoy.
2. Traveling Reduces Stress
More than 39% of Americans struggle with stress and anxiety. Stress makes the likelihood of developing health problems far higher and lowers your quality of life. Traveling and getting away even for a short time gives you the much needed chance to rest and recharge which can lead to feeling less anxious.
3. It can reduce your risk of depression
According to WHO depression affects about 280 million people worldwide and it can affect anyone anywhere at any time. If you’re like me and traveling gives you a boost of endorphins and serotonin then take that PTO and plan those trips. It gives you something to look forward to and plan for and can help decrease your depression or chances of experiencing depression
Of course these are not sure fire end all be alls to creating good health. Traveling is just one way to help. If you are struggling with any of the health concerns always consult your doctor for the best practices. Also please don’t hesitate to contact a doctor if your struggling with any health issues❤️
