We just unlocked a new core memory fishing for the very first time with our pack! We have already learned so much in our first year with Scouting, but I think this one just might have been our favorite.

I always knew there was more to fishing that met the eye, but we were finally able to experience it for ourselves today. Maybe next time we will actually catch a fish!

Over Memorial Day weekend, we were honored to take part in this year’s flag planting at the San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio, a tradition that means a great deal to us.

Nearly 300 Scouts placed 32,000 flags in remembrance of the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Hearing veterans share what this act means to them made the morning even more meaningful 🇺🇸

We remember 🇺🇸. Proud of the hundreds of Scouts who honored every single person resting at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. Lest we forget…
Those who sacrificed for our freedom will never be forgotten.
This weekend - and always - #ScoutingAmerica extends our deepest gratitude and recognition to all our nation’s heroes. Memorial Day reminds us of the unwavering dedication, courage and integrity that men and women in the armed forces demonstrate every day. It asks us to remember the fallen - and to continually appreciate the freedom that they lost their lives defending.

To the fallen men and women of our armed forces: thank you….and thank you to the families, friends and loved ones who remember the sacrifice every single day. U.S. troops’ service exemplifies the ideals of loyalty, bravery and duty - principles that guide our #Scouts as they learn, grow and pursue their own journeys across the country, year-round.

While soldiers continue to safeguard our freedoms, youth from #CubScouts to #EagleScouts stand committed to serving their communities and making a positive difference in the world. Because many Scouts - past, present and future - choose to join the armed forces later in their lives, Memorial Day proves extremely significant to Scouting America.

Thank you to our fallen and active soldiers - words fail to express how thankful we are.

This Memorial Day, we challenge you to think of and ponder at least one fallen soldier. Reflect on the sacrifice he or she made for you, us and the entire American people - and think how you can carry that spirit of loyalty and bravery into your own life.

PS - If you did something Scouting related this Memorial Day, send it our way at for a chance to be featured.
