We based ourselves in St. Ignace and spent four dreamy days chasing fall colors — from bridges and waterfalls to the car-free charm of Mackinac Island. This route felt straight out of a postcard! 🧡✨
👇 Here’s our full fall itinerary 👇
📅 Day 1 – Mackinaw City & SkyBridge
Kicked off in Mackinaw City, wandered the lighthouse area, and walked the SkyBridge Mackinaw — the views of Lake Michigan and fall colors from up there are unreal! 🌉
📅 Day 2 – Tahquamenon Falls & Cut River Bridge
Drove north to Tahquamenon Falls State Park where the amber-colored water flows through a forest glowing in reds and golds 🍁
On the way back, stopped at Cut River Bridge — a quiet hidden gem with trails and stunning overlooks.
📅 Day 3 – Munising
A full day exploring Munising’s waterfalls — Miners, Wagner, and Munising Falls — and a scenic Pictured Rocks fall cruise that shows off Michigan’s wild beauty 🌊
📅 Day 4 – Mackinac Island
Took the ferry from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island — no cars, just horse carriages, bikes, and lake views everywhere. Rode up to Arch Rock, and ended the trip with sunset views back at St ignace lake facing hotel.
