Kota and a couple other canine friends were abandoned on someone’s property and spent the last four years chained up outside. Being thrown scraps and water occasionally. FOUR YEARS. Luckily a member of the family who owns the property decided enough was enough, and he helped a rescuer get them to freedom. Our friends at facilitated and got him to us. It takes a team to make this stuff happen!
Kota is underweight, has absolutely obliterated teeth and gums, and some stiff joints and muscles. He has most likely been in a lot of pain over the last few years. Yet he loves people, loves toys, and going for walks. He is a happy, sweet and special boy. And bonus? His markings are a mix of brindle and merle, so frickin’ cool.
Kota has started a healthy diet, has been getting plenty of rest, and belly scritches. He is getting a dental and exam next week. We are going to make sure he gets everything he needs to live a long and happy life.
He is dog and kid friendly, leash trained, and house trained. He will be available for adoption when we feel he is ready - and will update y’all here! He is going to make an amazing addition to the right home. (he does seem to have a bit of a prey drive re squirrels and bunnies so we aren’t sure cats will be a good fit)
