There are very few places that could make a genuine claim to be an Edinburgh institution, but Civerinos is one of them. Every time I have one, I'm somehow surprised by how good it is.
So when we were visiting a friend for a catch up and a takeaway and realised they were in the delivery radius... Well, we instantly knew where we were going to eat. We ended up sharing:

The weather might be unpredictable these last few days, but here are two things you can be sure of:
1. Us taking a lunch time trip to our favourite local café - Kaffeine
2. If there is a slight glimpse of sun, I'm getting an iced coffee
So when the sun was out last week, this trip was always going to happen. We are addicted to their wraps, and we have been trying to find our favourite build you own option. My favourite? Chicken, falafel & feta wrap, the perfect summer combo!

The lunchtime location of choice today was none other than Alby's new(er) Southside location. After hearing stories of how incredible their sandwiches were and realising how scarily close the walk is from my office, I had to try it out for myself.
I'm not exaggerating, nor do I say this easily... This has managed to barge its way into the top 3 sandwiches I've ever had. It was THAT good. I was almost sad to finish it, but it was so filling I couldn't have had another if I tried!
I went for the Fried Chicken Caeser, which was a focaccia packed full of:
Garlic buttermilk fried chicken thighs, garlic bacon butter, caeser mayo, parmasan, pickles and lettuce.
They're an absolute Edinburgh MUST visit, and to paraphrase Arnie: Alby Back 👀

Well, hello there, long time no see! How you been? What have we been up to? Well, recently we dropped in to Heads & Tales to try out their INCREDIBLE new cocktail menu!
As a specialist gin bar, they of course have a large selection of high quality gin cocktails, but I can't help but recommend veering off to their TRAITORS section, where you will find our two favourites of the night, this cheeky little monkey (The Bananarama!) and the passionfruit meringue cocktail over in picture 2!
Once you've had a couple drinks, you would be silly not to check out a couple of their tasty small plates. Especially these chicken wings, which I had to stop myself ordering 10 platefuls of.
Open from 5pm until 3am Thursday - Saturday you need to ensure you catch this when you can as you will regret missing out on this one! 🥳🍹❤️.

An out of this world fried chicken burger loaded with lettuce, tomato, cheese, caramelised onions, gherkins and chilli jam all enclosed within a brioche bun. What more could you want??

We went for a mixture of small and large plates, sharing each so we could get a taste of as much as possible! The best way to enjoy such a varied menu like this.

Each dish was incredible, mixing different flavours and cooking styles from all across Europe. This new menu is both wonderfully unique and distinctly Superico. A real must try in Edinburgh!

Each plate was unique and packed full of flavour. When the food is this good, it's so hard to pick a favourite, but if we were pushed to decide, then this was our dish of the day:

Marinated chicken cubes grilled on a hot plate & topped with this MASSIVE layer of cheese. The perfect dish for us!
Taza in Town has been a place on our list for a while now, we've always had it recommended to us by fellow foodies and now we can see why! Incredible food, a relaxed atmosphere and fantastic prices too.

| PR Invite | This weekend we did our first official Fringe activity, visiting the beautiful to experience all things Austrailian!
We were treated to an incredible array of food, either freshly prepared over a giant charcoal fired BBQ or in their own pizza oven! All from the comfort of their outback garden, a little sun trap which helps add to the Aussie vibe.
Our personal highlight of the day had to be trying out these incredible giant prawns. Not only were they packed with flavour, but they were accompanied by some incredible Aussie ingredients we had never tried before, like Bush tomato, finger limes and wattleseed!
House of Oz is running throughout the Fringe Festival and provides a truely immersive experience that celebrates Australian creativity. It is a foodies plane ticket to trying out some uniquely Aussie dishes, using authentic ingredients, prepared by Syndney Chef David Lee.
Earlier this year we made our first ever trip to the incredible to celebrate their inclusion in the 2022 Michelin Guide! And what a celebration it was 🥳🥂
We sampled their 6 course menu with paired wine and some extra surprise snacks along the way too. The highlight of the menu? It's a tough one to choose, but we would have to go for...
