Kanpai! to 5 years of the Australian Sake Awards. 🍶🍶🍶🍶🍶

Our 5th annual event was held in Sydney this month, and I honestly believe it was our best one yet.

Serving as a Director and Head Judge alongside a dedicated team is always a privilege, but watching this community grow over the last five years has been something truly special.

We had an incredible lineup of judges join us this year—some traveling from across the country and others making the journey all the way from Japan. It was fantastic to reconnect with our returning judges and welcome some amazing new faces to the family.

Day 1 saw us dive deep into our regular categories, while Day 2 put sake to the test with our chosen food pairing categories.

Everyone involved did a truly remarkable job, and I am immensely grateful to work alongside such a passionate group of people.

On a personal note, it was an absolute honour to once again MC the two-day event. 🙇🏻‍♀️

Thank you to all involved for a fabulous weekend and a wonderful 5-year celebration of the Australian Sake Awards.

Special Kansha, Kanpai & Otsukaresama, of course, to ASA President, the staff and my fellow ASA head judges. 🙏🍶🙇🏻‍♀️

I’ve barely had time to catch my breath since arriving home from Sydney on Monday - so just a quick post to acknowledge the past weekend and the mammoth efforts of everyone involved in this year’s 🙏

It’s an honour to be a Director and Head Judge of ASA, and to celebrate our 5th year of the competition.

The past several weeks have been abundantly busy, and I'm immensely grateful for every minute and every experience. It's been both enriching and, admittedly, quite exhausting ~ but in the best possible way.

Since the start of September, there has been a lot of travel both inside and outside of Australia, and not a lot of time at home with my nearest and dearest.

I have greatly enjoyed hosting a number of sake events over the past few months, which provided the opportunity to connect with and discuss sake with wonderful individuals from around the world. While my calendar at the start of the year did not project this level of commitment, I am deeply appreciative of the chance to have served as a seminar/masterclass/event host, MC, or guest speaker at several truly memorable gatherings.

After a lot of time in the air over the past 12 weeks,

...it's now time for a little R & R and quality time with loved ones in the lead up to what some call the silly (or festive) season.

A sincere thank you to everyone who attended or was involved in the planning and execution of these events.
It has been a fabulous and collaborative journey.

Incredibly grateful to have been one of the four people to receive the title of Sake Samurai for 2022. Even more grateful that I was able to attend the ceremony in Kyōto yesterday.
The fun was tripled by having inductees from the previous two years join us after a long wait due to Coronavirus restrictions.
Kansha and Kanpai to all involved. 🙇🏻‍♀️🍶♥️🙏
