Sending your child off to school can be an emotional moment. It marks the end of an era. They are no longer a baby, and you can’t be there with them. I am counting down the minutes until they come home.
One thing that I do with my kids after school is have a snack ready. We have a no technology rule and we all sit and enjoy a snack together and talk about the day. The highs, the lows and everything in between. I find that if we do this right after school, everything is still fresh in their mind. It’s amazing to hear all of the little stories they have to tell❤️
I hope all of the little kindergarteners had the best day today, and I hope that the mamas and dads that are sending their kids to school for the first time have a great day too!

Splash Down -Vernon
(it was known back then as Atlantis Waterslides). It’s so fun for all ages. The water was a bit cold, but we all had so much fun.
Scandia Golf and Games -Kelowna we didn’t get to go here as much but many of our birthdays were spent here. It’s a very large and fun arcade. They do have mini golf and go carts as well
Ellison Provincial Park- Vernon
The lake is absolutely gorgeous and there are so many amazing trails to hike on.
Log Barn -Armstrong
They have lots of farm animals that you can feed. They also have an ice cream parlour and they bake fresh baked goodies!
Kangaroo Farm -Kelowna
The farm expanded a few years ago! Along with the kangaroos and wallabies, they now have reptiles and birds! They also had shows and food trucks.
White Rock Beach- White Rock
We always make sure we visit each time we are in Vancouver. This beach is the best! The views, the pier, the vibe. It’s something you have to experience for yourself.

I haven’t been camping in years. And when I did camp it was on a beach in southern B.C.
This was my first time camping in the woods and my kids first time camping ever. We went with 4 other family’s so 10 adults and 11 kids! It was such a fun experience for all of us. Campfires, late night talks, canoeing and relaxing! I’ll share below things we did to make our trip as smooth as possible!
1. Pre planned meals. Each family was assigned one meal - one family was on snacks and cutlery that we prepared at home. We did chicken dinner and kebabs and naan.
We had everything marinated and ready to go. We frozen it at home and we kept it on ice until it was our time/day to cook.
2. We brought activities for the kids. We have travelled with some of these families before (Houston). And what worked well for us is that each family would bring an activity to do. When we found the kids were starting to get restless we would pull out an activity (playdoh, painting, coloring sheets, glow sticks, bouncy balls).
3. Pack extra clothes. We were gone for 2 nights but I brought 4 pairs of clothes for the kids.
4. Let them be. Our kids were playing in the dirt. Eesa was even eating it at one point. At first I tried to stop them but the other moms there told me to let them be, and I’m so glad I did❤️ they had no technology but they made their own fun but playing and being kids.
After a long week this detox was what my heart truly needed and honestly I cannot wait to camp again. However preferably a place where I can charge my phone 😅

I honestly don’t know where the time went but this guy is 2!
Being a first time boy mom has taught me so much in life. Like how to change a diaper really fast, how fun it is to flip toy cars over and watch their wheels turn, and how to always be on my feet because this guy surprises me with his wildness.
