This video shows one of my handmade couture performance pieces, created for. At the heart of this coat — literally — is my iconic Sabine Staartjes pixel heart. From the center outward, the colors ripple across the garment in rainbow order, inspired by the way water moves when you throw a stone into it.
I wanted the design to feel alive, as if the color is echoing through the fabric. The layered textures and bold silhouette amplify that movement, turning the coat into part of the performance itself. For me, fashion is storytelling — not just something you wear, but something that reacts, expands and resonates.
I create my designs by hand, using color as my main language. This piece was made specifically for this performance, where costume, theater and emotion come together. I love designing garments that take up space and celebrate individuality, freedom and joy.
As a fashion designer based in Amsterdam, my work focuses on inclusive, custom-made fashion for every body. My designs are meant to be expressive, playful and unapologetically colorful — with the pixel heart as a recurring symbol of love, connection and identity.

It was the hottest day of 2025, the sun relentless, the asphalt warm beneath our feet. And still, there we were. Walking, showing, celebrating fashion in the most unexpected place. What started as an idea became a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — a reminder that creativity doesn’t need permission, and dreams don’t need traditional stages.
As a fashion designer and small business owner, moments like this don’t come often. That’s why this day feels so special. Being able to present my designs in such a bold, unconventional way reminded me why I create in the first place: to challenge norms, to bring color into unexpected spaces, and to show that fashion can exist anywhere.
I’m endlessly grateful for this opportunity. Grateful for everyone who believed in the vision, supported the process, and stood there with me in the heat, turning a highway into a runway. This wasn’t just a show — it was a statement. About creativity, courage and showing your work to the world, exactly as it is.
This is a day I’ll remember when I’m very very old. And a reminder that sometimes, the most unforgettable moments happen when you dare to take up space!!
