We're delighted to announce that Sabhal Mòr Ostaig has received the Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community award at last night's Herald Education Awards 2026 in recognition of our role as lead partner in the Kilbeg community development. Dr Donnie Munro, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig's Director of Development, was in attendance to collect the award.

The Herald Education Award judges looked for evidence of commitment to areas such as local employment, community volunteer schemes, charity work, environmental initiatives, and local product sourcing.

Access to affordable housing is a key component to creating sustainable and economically active communities, that place Gaelic at the heart of community life, and we at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig are proud to have led on this important initiative.
