Today I had the pleasure to watch it on the big screen at Lichtblick Kino, a tiny cinema near my apartment with only 3 other people in the theatre (because people just don’t know what is good anymore 😅). Anyway, it is one of those films that you watch again and again, you discover little details each time, and as you gain more experience in life it touches you in different ways. Today it almost brought a tear in my eye, ALMOST.
It also reminded me of the time when I visited the Goldfinch restaurant in Hong Kong back in the day with my dear mumzee. Amazing memories.

Tokyo-Wan Kannon is about 1.5–2 hours from Tokyo, but it felt worlds away. Quiet, spiritual, and off the beaten path.
The beauty was both in the view of Tokyo Bay and in being inside the Kannon itself.
It was the perfect place to pause and reflect between years.
Sharing one of the most beautiful evenings I had towards the end of 2025.
As I came back down from Nihon-ji, calm and full of reflection, I was struck by the beauty of the sea, the backlit silhouette of the ever powerful Mt. Fuji, and the smallness of the people around it. Everyone seemed to pause, simply taking it in.
It was a year of many ups and downs for me, new beginnings, some endings, and many changes, and in that moment I couldn’t help but let all the feelings and thoughts wash over me.
I wish you all a beautiful move towards 2026.

Aomori, a lovely city in the Northern part of Japan - was a completely new destination for me to explore. Almost all of the buses I took were wrong, because everything (including the name of the stations) had been exclusively in Japanese characters. This day was no exception, so I ended up getting off the bus and taking a one hour walk to my destination. My discovery were the most beautiful building and house facades that felt like they held precious moments from a time capsule from decades ago, and it was a pleasure to collect them onto my camera roll. 🤍 Which one is your favorite?
