I've come across so many woman, so many stories that it angered me. It angered me that the world can be so cruel. This project is born from that anger. Born from that anxiety that you feel just walking down the street. Born from the love that I have for everyone who has survived and still goes on. Eyes Closed is an ode to that.
I hope this project makes you feel that. Makes you feel just a lil bit of that anger and anxiety that exists within, I think, every woman.
You aren't alone in this space. I hope that one day you feel safe. Safe enough to be, to exist, to live.

Thank you for guiding me through this entire project and encouraging me every step of the way. Thank you to who gave me the space to execute this project and integrate this story into my capstone. I recently had the opportunity to be a part of as it held it's third edition - an artist-run salon evening shaped by sculpture, drawing, photography and performance around the phrase: "Tomorrow will.." A promise made, a mirage glimpsed, a memory unfolding. I exhibited my work along with other extremely talented artists!
