I Ran the Entire Length of Stansted Express in One Day! 🏃🚂

But before that though, it's been a bit of a long while since sharing anything on here. I recently celebrated four years since I posted my first video running the London Tube Map, I was recently in Greece to celebrate my brother's wedding, among other incredible things.

I want to firstly say thank you for your patience and kind messages over my whereabouts during this time. Trust me when I say that I never intended to "take a break" as it hasn't really felt like things have stopped in my personal and professional life.

My entire year through 2023 and up until recently has been difficult for me to navigate. I had serious personal circumstances happen to me that affected how I view myself, a legal situation that was taxing financially and mentally, all among other things I'm not ready to talk about.

These factors led me to feeling stressed, burned out, and slipping into old addictive habits that manifested into unhealthy patterns of behaviour. I originally wanted to come back sooner, though I still had unresolved issues that needed more time to reconcile.

YouTube no longer felt fun for me and I was ready to wrap everything in. I operated a Patreon that I quietly unpublished as I couldn't handle taking people's money with nothing to show for it.

While I'm in the best headspace I've been in for a long time, there are of course moments that are challenging, however I recognise that it's simply a pattern and to be grateful for the good days and understand the bad days are only temporary. I couldn't have got to where I am without therapy and the incredible support I have with those closest to me behind the scenes. You know who you are.

Aside from all that! 🤣 I have a wonderful line-up of videos on the horizon, starting with my epic adventure running the entire length of Stansted Express in one day. This 50 mile journey took over 4 months of training, taking over 15 hours and clashing with one of the wettest storms in 130 years.

Here's to a new chapter! 🏃🚂

"I Ran the Entire Length of Stansted Express in One Day" is out now on my YouTube channel.

Global Running Day🏃🏻‍♂️🌍

According to the Global Running Day website, today (1st June 2022) is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. It’s to remind us of the positives that running can offer and the power of unification.

During the past two years, many people have turned to running as a solution to help release anxiety, gain perspective, cope with cabin fever, and keep up wellbeing.

Running for me has always, and will continue to be, an extension of who I am.

I feel the most social, I feel healthy, but most importantly, I feel the most at-one with myself.

Running has proved to be cathartic for me and I am grateful to consider myself a part of an inspiring running community. Whether it’s cheering runners at events or sharing videos of my running-railway endeavours, I am thankful to have inspired people to take an interest in running; that it doesn’t need to be only about PB’s or long-distances.

Running can be educational, running can be fun and running can be interesting.

Thank you to all the amazing runners and supporters who continue to inspire me. I hope the least I can do is express my passion and enthusiasm with you. ❤️

Happy Global Running Day!

The Elizabeth line is here! 🏃🏻‍♂️🚂

Yesterday marked the official opening of the Elizabeth line, with Phase One of its services operating between Paddington and Abbey Wood. Later in the year and going into next year, we’ll see Phases Two and Three introduced with the full length of the Elizabeth line operating between Reading and Heathrow Airport to Abbey Wood and Shenfield.

I couldn’t wait to re-run this section again - when I ran this last year things were so much different! Everything was hidden behind hoardings, building works, the lot. To see it all open to the public felt quite jarring not gonna lie! 🤣

The atmosphere yesterday was unreal. It’s times like now where I’m reminded of some of the most amazing things about the railway industry - its community. From its staff to the public, it felt euphoric to see so many like-minded people out to echo the exciting sentiment.

I want to send a massive thank you to everyone who made the Elizabeth line a reality and to the incredible staff on the day who assisted everyone with their questions and queries! I also want to thank those that took the time to chat with me and take selfies - you know who you are!

Overall, what a fantastic day for what is now a part of London’s history; a railway for London’s present and future. ❤️

Oh yeah, the 30k run from Abbey Wood to Paddington was pretty good too! Check out the route on my Strava. 🏃🏻‍♂️🚂
