I have recently been appointed as the youngest-ever Opinion Leader of the 12th Term of the Northern Army of the Japan Self-Defense Forces.
I was honored to receive this opportunity through Chikage Aoyama, who passed the baton on to me.
Ever since my student days, I have had friends serving in the Self-Defense Forces, and I have also attended ceremonies at Obihiro Garrison.
I have even had the opportunity to ride in a tank, and I have long been familiar with things such as the angle of a salute and the sound of military bugles, so I already knew a little about the organization ๐คญ
I attended the regular meeting to receive my letter of appointment, and seeing distinguished individuals there โ including the chairman of a restaurant I often visit and people I recognize from television โ made me stand even taller with a renewed sense of responsibility.
I will carry out my two-year term with dedication and a strong sense of duty.
As the youngest member, I hope to engage generations that have not previously been reached and share the work of the Self-Defense Forces, who protect our communities, from a fresh and different perspective.
I am also looking forward to participating in activities such as concerts by the military band, observing tank training exercises, and helicopter trial flights, and I hope you will look forward to those posts as well.
